"Following landmark immigration legislation affecting employers in Colorado and Georgia, a host of other states have launched their own attempts at immigration control. The bills run the gamut from initiatives that are little more than an amen chorus for existing federal law, to those that attempt to mandate worker verification programs and impose stiff penalties against employers that hire illegal workers. Some more notable reform attempts involving employers are those in Utah, Arizona, Missouri and South Carolina. "

There is a discussion of the law proposals in the article.

What do you think?

I recently went to court to enforce a child support order that was $8k behind. He had to pay me $2k from an account and has 3 years to pay back the arrears. Now it has been 2 months since the order, he has paid about 20% of his reg child support and not touched his arrearage payment that the court ordered. I can not afford to take him back to court and sometimes struggle to make sure my children have what they need but this deadbeat can afford to take my kids to Disneyworld and other lavish vacations because of his failure to take care of their day to day needs. He has had his DL revoked but parades into DHS and explains that since he drives for a living that he can not pay without it and they have reinstated them. How do I make him accountable, and remain relatively civil? I exchange the kids with them and do everything to the letter, I just don't see why he should be above the law, especially at the expense of my children. Any help is appreciated.

A brand new coal burning power station is being permitted in Victoria, 400mgw = 400mgt CO2 per hour. All this with $100 million Federal and $50 million Vic State government taxpayer funded assistance. And this in 2007, 30 years since climate change was accurately forecast? The planet is doomed!.

Am I cleared of all costs once the car's title is signed over? It was a $1000 car that I gave to an auto salvage company for $75. The ticket is just $50, is that wrong? Should I pay it? They got a good deal.

For the sake of arguement, if the Democrats would take everything West of the Mississippi and the Republicans everything East of the Mississippi.

Use your imagination, eventhough I know it is sometimes hard if you are a democrat, but try anyway.

I consider myself a leftist. I am annoyed though with the mentality that most on the right seem to have about guns-especially how so many of them seem to think that most on the left want to “take all guns away from everyone” and “even take them away from our soldiers”...Wow.

The reality is, I myself do NOT like the idea of the government telling someone like my grandfather that he does not have the right to have and must give up his old hunting rifle(though I sure as hell do not care for hunting). Also I do not like the idea of the government telling me I cannot have and must give up my legally purchased handgun in my nightstand.

I do hate however, the fact that in my old neighborhood before I left for college, kids like my best friend’s little brother were able to buy GUNS off the STREET easier then they could buy cigarettes at the store.

So, my question is this: HOW can we protect the rights of Law abiding citizens to own guns, but also crack down hard on the black market?

It seems to me that a lot of you don't. If that is so, your REALLY being stupid. You should be asking if the rest of the world has legitimate complaints against the U.S. If they do, it would be wise to correct our policies. Do you ConReps see that ?
