That question is surely made only for comedic purposes. Surely you cannot be serious. I can think of many reasons why that would never happen, but here are two:

1) Mexico does not have the extra money required to build a "fence", spanning their border. Check the latest estimates on the cost to bulid that, and think of how long that "fence" would have to be, and it becomes clear that it is simply not feasible for either country to complete such an undertaking.

2) Mexico benefits from all of the jobs that our country's corporations "sub-out" to them, and are happy to receive them

3) Mexico profits from the drugs (legal in their country) that are brought into our country to sell, with their "unacknowldedged knowledge".

4) Mexico is happy to let their citizens, who are not working in their country, to come to The United States, to find employment, and leave Mexico with less unemployed people to deal with

There are many many other reasons, too numerous to mention in a reasonably small post. I believe that question was asked in comedic form.

If not, however, you are a sad individual if you believe that the issue here is just "what if so and so kept us out of their country?". It is, in most cases, already true. To travel to most all countries from the United States, you must obtain a passport, which EXPIRES, at a certain date, beyond which you must apply for and be granted citizenship in that country, in order to stay. This is not the case with a Mexican "citizen" coming to the United States, illegally. In that case, there is no "passport", and no way of tracking that person, to tell them it's time to leave. They can choose to apply for citizenship, or not, completely on their own merit, with almost no consequences to them either way. Which means, without a driver's licence, a social security number, etc, this illegal immigrant, can commit crimes and not be as easily traced, and they do not pay income taxes on the income that they make in this country at their jobs, but they do benefit from, and utilize, some of the things that this tax money typically pays for. There are obvious reasons why illegal immigration is a major issue in this country, and obvious reasons why nobody is dying to get over any "fence" FROM the United States, TO Mexico anyway, should any fence ever be bulit. But, it won't be built.

Ok, any more idiots on here tonight? Let em roll!

area of our u . s . as quickly as belonged to Mexico like California and the Southwest yet we took it from them because of the fact we've been militarily greater advantageous, so for my area we owe them, yet bear in mind my opinion is in the minority. people merely desire to guard what they have been given and if which skill development a fence then thats what they're going to do. My coworker Jose got here to visit on a Visa and merely never went lower back. His shares an apartment with 6 people and sends money lower back to his spouse and works 2 jobs and over 50 hours a week. absolutely everyone ought to have the skill to alter into an American if the desire, God made the Earth no longer governments.

That would sure be different, It's really got bad huh, people have gone nuts i think and so extreme. I think the united states are just not able to support every one from every country, and i don't mean literally, its just hard to know what you need to do or even how you should feel about some of the issues. I wish as well as so many people that all the fighting about every little thing would stop. And no i don't think the war in Iraq is little, I think it's terrible, and i want it done and over so no more men or women have to die, I think we the people need to make more peaceful changes, don't you!

Who cares? Not to be racist, but Mexico is Mexico and America is America. It doesn't matter what they do because they are separated from us, and it wouldn't matter because they provide us pretty much no resources, they come over here and most Americans would say the same.

Yes, I'm against immigration because why can't Mexico make Mexico more like America or just get a frikin liscense.

Go for it! The only problem will be that the fence will have a one way revolving door going into the U.S. I don't know why there is such a big fuss about illegal immigration, there are more than enough corrupt border officials on either side of the border to guarantee the constant illegal migration.

I would feel relieved and grateful. It's not like Americans are flocking across the border to Mexico, so really they'd just be doing us a big favor by keeping their citizens in. It would save American taxpayers a lot of money and help to solve the problem of illegal immigration.

I would prefer a 24' wide and 10' deep moat But if we have to start with a fence I'm willing to pitch in.

I'd send them every piece of scrap steel I could find and willingly reduce my electrical use to give them all of the juice they need to keep the fence electrified.

I would absolutely love to see the mexicans takeing some responcibility and creating jobs along with a solution to our illegal alien Problem. Mexico needs to keep its citizens out of our country, my tax dollars pay for the healthcare of americans not mexicans
