Why would he sign legislation preventing a woman's legal guardian from making her end-of-life decisions for her, yet, as governor of Texas, sign a law which gives hospitals the authority to take terminally ill patients off life support against the wishes of their spouses or parents if doctors deemed it medically appropriate?

I don't understand. Could a Bush fanatic explain this to me?

Criticizing their every move or letting them fight the war, win, and come home.

Don't war critics get that they are only prolonging the war? If the enemy knew the US was united, they would not be so strong. They think they can win because our country is losing a psy-ops battle being waged by the Leftist media! The democrats know that ever soldier who dies can be both lionized and victimized by the media in an effort to demonize Bush.

Supposed Liberal "support" for the troops is nothing more than thinly veiled, and I mean thinly, Bushate.

I say, let the troops fight, kill, shock and awe and everything else they volunteered to do. Let them be safe, deadly, and quick. Then bring them home victors.

Are police directed by their local civilian officials, to enforce laws that have more to do with the raising of revenue, than the administration of justice?

As an Englishman it has recently been brought to my attention by many Americans on this site, that they won WW2. thus saving England from the Nazi jackboot. They say England would have never won the war without them and it was they alone who saved us from now speaking German.I would like to extend my gratitude on the subject and leave them with this"YOU CANNOT SAY YOU HAVE WON A WAR WHEN YOU JOIN HALF WAY THROUGH"

Kant introduced the idea of perpetual peace through democracy (as well as trade and international leagues). Because democracies are more peaceful with other democracies (a democracy has never been at war with another democracy), the democratization of the planet has been a foreign policy goal of the United States at least since Wilson and pushed hard with Clinton and G.W. Many times this is pursued with military force, "forging democracy at gunpoint" as one put it. It's something of a paradox to work toward peace by using force. Any ideas on how we might support democracy (e.g. in Iraq and Afghanistan) without the use of the military, or at least in a much more limited capacity?

This is a country of free speech. But, free speech has gotten lots of people in deep trouble when they cross the line from honest political debate to advocating violence and retribution as part of their political "solution".

The situation in Iraq has almost nothing to do with International Terrorism. It never did.

There IS an insurgency, but it's motivated by our very presence there! If we leave, there will be no more reason for an insurgency. And the insurgents will NOT come here!

More and more, what Iraq is about is a Shiite-Sunni civil war. Why is that our concern? What do we care who wins that? Why should we put ourselves in the middle of that? How does it benefit our national security to attempt to intervene in that?

We CANNOT pacify that country. Only the Iraqis can do that. And if they cannot, toough crap. They'll deserve what happens.

Why do you insist that we keep p1ssing away American lives for NOTHING?

I've heard so many people say they are pro-life and think abortion is murder, except in cases of rape or incest. Why is it okay to murder a creation of God when it came about because of rape or incest?

If a woman was raped and subsequently went into a coma and was pregnant...she awoke in the 8th month of pregnancy, is it still okay to abort the baby? Why is an 8th month "murder" not okay, but a 1st month murder "okay" in your eyes?
