Great idea. There were some towns in Illinois that were working on the same thing. Maybe all these towns should get together. One precaution -- remember who's next in line -- Dick Cheney and then Nancy Pelosi. By impeaching Bush we will most definitely be jumping from the frying pan into the fire if either of those two became president.

So, by voting to impeach, two respondents think Vermont should leave the union? For exercising free speech? Is free speech only for conservatives? I must have missed something in social studies class.

Apparently conservatives had no problem shoving the impeachment of Bill Clinton down everyone's throat for nothing that had anything to do with his Presidential duties, and yet Bush who has gutted the constitution, killed people on false information, is hankering for yet another war (with Iran), outed CIA agents, funnelled money to the very groups we're fighting, invaded a sovereign nation pre-emptively, refused to let votes count and actively discouraged the voting process, replaced the National Archivist illegally, promised to get Osama but never bothered, promised to get to the bottom of the Plame leak but backed away when it pointed to his office, runs a shadow government, ignores his generals, and the will of the people, circumvents law via signing statements, is proud that he almost "never reads", has had more vacations and done less to move this country forward than any president since WWII, has transformed America from one of the most, if not THE most, admired country in the world to one of the most hated; who actually embraces torture and ignores the Geneva Conventions, this person who cut taxes at a time he knew he was going to war and plunged us into debt, who makes fun of war heroes, who doesn't allow free speech at his public appearances, who jails citizens indefinitely, who has done more in six years to undo everything we've worked for since 1776 - THIS pResident you want to defend?

If Bush isn't deserving of impeachment, I don't know who is.

It makes me almost ashamed to admit my family has been here since the late 1600's. To think that the left-wing liberal wing nuts that have imported to this great state and practically taken over the government are making news with such trash appalls me to no end.

But the good thing is that town government can make a petition (which is all this farse is) and submit it, but it will go no further. The house and senate must take the issue on and petition the congress to impeach a president. The imports here can kick and scream all they want, all they are doing is making their cranial-rectal insertions obvious to the world.

I am not very proud about it, I see it as an act of patheticy on their part. Anyone who tries to cause us lose a war should be traitors and should not have the right to call themselves Americans. This act has demonstrated that the American people have gotten weak and does not have what it takes to win a war. The only true Americans in America support victory in Iraq, and support our President. those people in vermont should be ashamed of themselves, and how dare they call themselves American. What kind of people would attack their own govt. but cant even stand up to the enemy. Its Pathetic. people were stronger in the middle ages.

Many great things come from the beautiful state of Vermont and I am energized by their enlightenment.

I've felt so bogged down by the ultra-corrupt bush regime that I've had zero energy.

It is wonderful to know that there is a state out there that's willing to begin the justice process.

Now the rest of the states need to follow suit and just let the inertia grow and grow and grow!

not liking him isn't grounds for impeachment. If it replaced into, it somewhat is not in all probability any president could be waiting to end his term in workplace. in spite of if he replaced into impeached that doesn't advise he'd go away workplace earlier his term is over. Clinton replaced into impeached regrettably he stayed in workplace. properly could it somewhat is nice that he stayed in, Gore could have been even worst for the financial device.

I feel GREAT and very AMERICAN about it.

Vermont, and really that whole "colonial" area is steeped in history of local town meetings, community involvement, etc.

AS OPPOSED TO BIG GOVERNMENT deciding every aspect of your existence.

I think it is a marvelous statement that WE THE PEOPLE still believe that this country has a government "BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE" instead of a select few criminals running Washington.

Viva la revolucion!

Vermont has already voted to symbolically cede from the Union. I think that action demonstrates their lack of moral character and sound reasoning skills as much as anything else.

Much to my amazement, I recently learned that this state is home to a whole bunch of liberals! Ergo, their seeking to impeach does not come as a surprise. I think their attitude is disgusting...let them secede and be their own country!
