Criticizing their every move or letting them fight the war, win, and come home.
Don't war critics get that they are only prolonging the war? If the enemy knew the US was united, they would not be so strong. They think they can win because our country is losing a psy-ops battle being waged by the Leftist media! The democrats know that ever soldier who dies can be both lionized and victimized by the media in an effort to demonize Bush.
Supposed Liberal "support" for the troops is nothing more than thinly veiled, and I mean thinly, Bushate.
I say, let the troops fight, kill, shock and awe and everything else they volunteered to do. Let them be safe, deadly, and quick. Then bring them home victors.

My idea of real support is gauranteeing that they won't be killed or injured. Move them out of Bagdad or into safe compounds. Did we "win" in Vietnam?

First off, I do not support the war in Iraq. Nor do I protest it. I have this on my blog as well (on Yahoo 360), that I feel supporting AND protesting the war are both ignorant. The fact of the matter is, NONE of us really know what's going on there.
What people don't seem to understand is that the news coverage is like a huge game of telephone. The generals in Iraq decide what to pass on to the States, which is usually just how many soldiers were killed on any given day (though they might include other, better pieces of news, which of course we never hear about.). This information is then given to the generals State-side. Those generals then pass on the news to probably the press secretary, who then passes it on to the news sources.
Now, here's my theory. I'm not going to say that the news media is biased, though it would be true. I will say this though. The news media WANTS us to LOSE the war in Iraq. Why? So that they can say they were right.
All these years since Nixon finally pulled us out of Vietnam, journalists (and half of the American public) have been DYING for us to have another Vietnam. Oh, they won't admit it, but that's what they want.
Case in point:
Protests across the US, further fueled by the news media's coverage of the war in Iraq.
Calls for impeachment (didn't they do the same with Johnson?).
The anti-war music.
And these people are not smart enough to see through it. They don't understand that they're being manipulated, the same way the hippies were manipulated in the sixties. They refuse to listen. And here's another thing, you want further proof? Watch the thumbs-down on this answer!
WAR PROTESTERS! YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED!
WAR SUPPORTERS! YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED TOO!
But in all honesty, I'm more on the side of the supporters. At least they're not on the streets in droves protesting this war, and destroying our country's (and our military's) morale. The hippies are rising again, heaven help us. I wish they'd stop, and just let our soldiers do their jobs and come home!

The war has been over for some time now. What is supposed to be happening is peacekeeping.
So 'shock and awe' are no longer appropriate to the situation.
Hearts and minds are where its at now and blind support for over violent confrontations will only isolate the troops from the people in country, making their job even tougher.
Yes, the troops should be supported but that doesn't mean You have to agree with all off the methods being used.
My country right or wrong is how Fascism got started.
George Bush is a big enough man to admit some mistakes and big enough to accept criticism.

yes not only that they hinder them doing their job by making them follow the seven rules of engagement and throwing them in jail if they do their job. So the troops are fearful because their hands are tied and raises the risk of them getting killed. And what is with them going to D.C. on the 17th so they can spit on the soldiers and throw things at the wall!? How would Cindy Sheehan have liked it if others had spit on her son? The mothers and families of the American soldiers are who suffers most after the soldiers themselves, but Jane Fonda, Cindy Sheehan and others have
to make matters worse with their ignorance.
We did not win Viet Nam for the same reason and people wonder why!

If the terrorist knew that the US was completely united behind this war then they would have never engaged in this type of battle. The war they are wagging is specifically meant to erode support for the war because they knew that eventually liberals would give in and decide to pull out.

I couldn't agree with you more. Untie their hands and let them do what they have volunteered to do and been highly trained to do, and if there has to be reporters over there, then at least be honest and tell us some of the good that is happening there. This could have been over a long time ago if it hadn't been turned into a hate-Bush-fest and a PC war. .

You are spot on on this one.
This war is not so much about bombs, guns, or missiles...it is a battle of wills and the enemy can see America's will beginning to falter. They will not give up unless they were faced with an unfaltering will of the American people.
Right or wrong...we are there...we knew going in it wasn't going to be quick or easy...now we have to gut it out. The only way to be successful is to be united.

Support for the troops means taking care of their families while they are gone. Taking care of their physical and emotional scars when they return. And if they are disabled, making sure that their families are taken care of. Read the link below, and you'l seee who supports the troops, at least according to them.

WRONG
i am in full support of our troops, but that doesn't mean that i should support this unjustified invasion and war.
it doesn't matter if the US is united in this or not - the enemy does not want us occupying their country. united or not, support the troops or not, those people are not gonna rest until Iraq is theirs' again.
our military is stretched so thing right now because the majority of it, is in Iraq.... a country we shouldn't even be in. bring our troops home.
President Bush and Congress.... send your kids to Iraq.

I say we show liberals what their support does by screaming "Let's put everyone to work, and cut the funding on Welfare". Then hopefully they will understand.
