If President Bush were to be impeached and then later tried in a criminal court for the crimes many feel he has committed, how many of you feel you could be fair and impartial if you were called to serve on that jury?

We all know that Dick Cheney has serious health issues (heart problems, blood clots, etc). When he goes to meet his maker, will George Bush come clean and admit that Cheney was running the show and he (Bush) didn't have the courage to stand up to him (Cheney)?

(Referring to the article)This is stupid....like the troops didn't have a choice to go to war. Most of them want to fight for our country.

Seven months before the invasion of Iraq, the head of British foreign intelligence reported to Prime Minister Tony Blair that President Bush wanted to topple Saddam Hussein by military action and warned that in Washington intelligence was "being fixed around the policy," according to notes of a July 23, 2002, meeting with Blair at No. 10 Downing Street.

...

"Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD [weapons of mass destruction]. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

...

"The case was thin," summarized the notes taken by a British national security aide at the meeting. "Saddam was not threatening his neighbours and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran."

So basically, Bush didn't go to war because of WMD's.

They're really up in arms. I don't like Bush, I should say that now. But I'm not in favor of impeachment, as I see it as an enormous waste of time we can't afford and money we can't afford, for something that wouldn't ultimately happen until he was already out of office - and you can't impeach a former President. However... I think it's great that Vermonters have gotten so far under the skin of extremists. Each anti-Vermont post shows this.

Anyone agree?

Also - anyone see the cult mentality in publicly denouncing anyone or anything that goes against your own opinion?

Doesn't it make sense that if you get a handout from the government you should not be able to vote?
Think about it. If you are poor, and some politician promises MORE money to the poor arent you going to vote for that person? How is that any different from BUYING a vote. Remember it means that the politician is buying that vote with YOUR money.

I apply this to business entrepenuers as well as the poor. If you get a handout you give up your right to vote.

Isnt this fair?

I am having a dispute with my local council about how they have and are dealing with my housing case and as I have come to the end of their complaints system they are just pointing me in the direction of the ombudsman people. Are these actually any good or will I be wasting my time as I seem to have done by complaining to the local council??
I fit their criteria to handle my complaint but as I don't know anything about ombudsman or what they do I'd just like some more info of others experiences if they have ever used them for anything.
Thanks
