I reckon you should have to re-take your test.......if you were a decent driver, you wouldn't have lost your licence in the first place

Hiya, If you live in UK you will not have to resit your test, that is if you have had your licence over 12 months, you will only have to apply for another licence. And to be honest they are very quick. Get your replacement as soon as possible, because if you are stopped by the police and have to have your documents you will be in trouble with no licence.

Depending on which state you live in could make a difference on what it takes to get your license renewed.
In KS, you have to pay off the court costs, fines, etc. Once that is done, you need to pay the State to renew your license. If you lost it because you didn't have insurance, you'll have to show proof of that (in KS it's called an SR-22).
Your best bet is to call the main Department of Motor Vehicles in your State Capitol and ask them.
Make sure you get it done or you'll end up with a long history of arrests, for driving while suspended.
P.S., in KS, you do not have to re-take your driving test.

if you have just lost it, then contact the DVLA at Swansea and they will issue you with a duplicate licence at the cost of renewal,
you can find the phone No on the back of your paper licence or someone Else's licence, ( 08702400009 DVLA SWANSEA)
you need your licence to prove to anyone who has the authority to ask for you to produce it,, if you are asked by a police officer to produce your licence you are given only 7 days in which to do so,
so you need to get a replacement(duplicate)asap

It depends on what conditions were made at time, U could either re-apply after ban is up or if judge insisted u have to resit ur test then expect to fail a few times.

in the uk you get it back unless you have had it for less than 12 months and then you have to resit it and do an extended driving test which costs a fortune
