While they really don't have a leg to stand on, I applaud the Vermonters who are tired of the state of the presidency...and their country in general...and are actually saying so. So many closet complainers these days...many on YA...so I tip my hat to those who take a stand so loudly and vehemently.

I commend you on your "cult mentality" labeling of all the people screaming about Vermont. They sound like rush. Boycotting, indeed.
But I disagree with you about the impeachment.
I think it is absolutely, positively of the utmost necessity that this country impeaches bush and cheney, as they have both unquestionably engaged in criminal activity. Ignoring the Geneva Convention for starters. Usurping the Constitution for another. Illegally going to war for continuance. And let's don't forget spying on Americans with no warrant, who have engaged in no criminal activity.
It will only be through the actual impeachment of this "president" that the entire world will see, understand, and ultimately believe that all the horrific nightmare behavior of America for the last six years was NOT the "will of the people" it was the machinations of a mad man.
As for the "time and the money involved" I think in actuality, it doesn't have to be long and drawn out at all.
Most of bush's criminal activities are fairly cut-and-dried.
Besides, if the country can spend $80 million and two years on a blue dress, they can spend whatever is necessary to impeach a bona fide criminal. Seriously -- the world will NOT forgive us and we can NOT move on until and unless we obey our own laws and hold bush and cheney accountable.
Personally, I want our reputation back. We worked hard for it for over 200 years.

Let me start out by saying I am Canadian, and I would be happy to visit Vermont and put my tourist dollars into their economy. The people of Vermont are demonstrating the basis of what every free country is. The ability to speak out, ans the willingness to. Granted their cause is a waste of time, I have to admit I do enjoy how much it is upsetting the extreme right.

Vermonters don't buy your political bullshirt. They know a good man when they see one and are too honest do be politically correct. We should all thank them for being independent thinkers and showing us the way. They were some of the first Americans to fight for this country and they are still fiercely independent in their defense of American Values and the Constitution of the United States.

This Presidency has done serious if not irreparable harm to the U.S.'s credibility worldwide. It has managed to polarize the world (on many issues) while creating a growing sense of disillusionment and lack of confidence from it's own people. I hardly recognize my own country anymore. Good for Vermont! I don't know if we can survive continuing down this path for another year or two...

Why would Vermonters get under your skin?
I don't think they are even thinking of extremists like you.

It's not just Vermont. A grassroots effort is emerging to get Impeachment considered seriously by a Congress that would rather not.

I want to personally thank them for being great Americans. They know there will be some fall out because of this. but they have put loyalty to country over the loyalty to one man.
