I find myself very anxious about things which I know (intellectually) are far beyond my ability to control/influence in government/politics. What is the most stressful thing to you in politics and why is it so stressful?

I guess different beliefs can be stressful when we want everyone to agree with our own beliefs, but don't we all know that this is an unrealistic expectation. But what about when those beliefs are pure evil (in your judgment) such as endorsing legal theft (wealth redistribution), supporting murder without just cause (abortion), etc.? However bad these things (and many others) may be, we have little power to do anything about them, so why do we stress-out over them?

We all have our own opinions and views. And, as human beings, we wouldn't hold them if we didn't believe that they were right.

The most frustrating thing in politics (and life in general) is having to accept those opposing views. At times, you can't imagine how people could actually think the way they do...and surely, they feel the same way about us. But living in a country that values free speech means that we MUST accept them. We never have to agree...but important to give the other side the respect we expect from them in having the right to our opinions.

Because you can't get the other party to see how you are correct for the way you view politics. Instead you just get ridiculed for having a different opinion.
