More troops, carrier groups in the Persian Gulf, harsh accusatory rhetoric, are we going into Iran? If so, how will the President do it and will Congress approve?

I'm attending a model UN conference in a few weeks, if anyone has attended one before, do you have any advice? I'm trying to be as informed as possible from my country's perspective, but other than that, is there anything I can do to prepare myself? I'm representing Pakistan on ECOSOC.
I'm looking forward to it. ^^

Thanks, all.

If the law of "practical reason" is a self imposed law that sanctions morality, how can outside sources of power sanction morality, such as the church and state? Does morality Sanction Itself?

Why is it ok for a lot of "Christians" to kill hundreds of thousands of innocents in an unnecessary war but not ok for a woman to shed a blastocyst out in a private health decision made with her doctor? Am I supposed to hold a funeral when I have my period, too?

Liberals say Republicans lost control because of Hurricane Katrina. Ray Nagin was the mayor of New Orleans. He should have done more to warn people about the coming disaster. Liberals say it's because of the Iraq War, but Democrats have no intention of removing all U.S. troops from Iraq. Was it because of the economy? Are people really living worse than when Bill Clinton was President? Why did Republicans lose?

From 1st July, a smoking ban will be implemented in England, to ban all smoking in pubs.Thousands of Council workers will be trained and employed, at a cost of millions, to go into pubs undercover and fine anybody found lighting up.

The law was applied in Scotland without any major problems. Trade is now booming, will it work here?

70% of the country don't smoke, 30% do. Should non - smokers be exposed to smoke?
Will there be trouble in pubs if smokers are told to stub out their cigarrette?
Should smokers be forced to smoke outside of all public places or is that unfair?
Should the Government outlaw cigarrettes completely?
Will landlords go out of business?

Were the people that did it caught?
My house was broken into a few years ago and the deputy that investigated saw a footprint outside the broken window and said,
"there's the footprint, I think we know who did this."
Yea, me too...somebody with feet.
No arrests were made.
No disrespect to law enforcement...I appreciate the job you do...just thought it was amusing.

I use the term saved loosely. It may supprise most of you that Britain would never of spoken German and no German would of ever invaded our nation in a time of war, such as the 2nd world war. Are you people aware of the Battle of Britain? Obviously not in many cases with some of the rubbish you Americans go on about. We beat Germany and they ran away scared, dropping all plans to attack Britain. Infact the saw the Russians and the US as an easier target after 1940, seeing as the most powerful nation of all time told them where to go. Our navy was also capable of defending our shores and Germany were more than aware of this. That is why they attempted the air attacks first but as most of us know it didnt work and they went home sucking their thumb.

Now thats cleared up can you Americans stop the " we saved you in WW2 " comments, because rememer, after 1940 hardly any Brits were killed in Britain by Germans and we decided to continue the war even though we didnt have to.

What kind of a pathetic argument is that?! What did the criminals ever do to you or your family? What "vengence" do you have to take unless it was your family who a child molester or a murder attacked? Explain where this so called "vengance" comes from!

You pro-criminal idiots KNOW that without the vengance card, you have NOTHING to stand on!!!! You just DON'T WANT HANEOUS DEMONS TO BE PUNISHED!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT THEM TO DESERVE HARSH PUNISHMENT!!! DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT THEY CAN BE REHIBILATED? DEFEND YOUR TERRIBLE ARGUMENTS!!!!

You may remember that OBL released a video shortly before the election condemning George Bush. I seem to recall that he urged the American people not to return him to office. He had to know that the effect of this would be to help W, not hurt him.
