I have worked for the dept of corrections for 7 years, I attend school at night to better myself, I have been written up only once when I first came to the dept of corrections, for accidentally touching a female on her elbow. Let me explain, the dept has a policy in which female officers if they feel they have been sexually harassed can file a complaint. That complaint was done away with it, now I have a female officer stating that I made advances to her, when I have not done so. Since being here I have seen several other male officers be put under investigation, for a woman who for this reason or that feels she "can get away with it". Why is the system written where female officers can use their words to advance but a man cannot use his words to defend himself. Why is the sytem designed to allow some women to lie and get away with it. The woman in my life is very supportive, but she feels I need to sue. Your thoughts.

Why would someone like Michael 'Shakes' Fox support a bill that destroyed human life when he knows there is no chance it can help him... Is it a case of 'misery enjoys company'?

And don't give me any of this 'he is sick' crap because for all you know I am, or any of us could develop that. I would like to see Mohammed Ali's view on that, now there is a man.

The great depression is over. Should the government stay out of the economy? If we were to end subsidies to inefficient farms, airlines, and auto companies would they be more competitive internationally? Should we abolish the minimun wage and welfare? Would these measures improve the economy or would they hurt our society?

BTW I'm English.

But I was talking to someone the other day and they said your congress will not allow your president to have a black vice- president because it's almost guaranteed that some crazy nut will kill the president just so their will be a black US president.

Is this true, even partially – as in people have expressed ‘concern’ that this could happen?

Is this just stoner waffle?

Now, our friends have said that they wanted to create incentives for the renewable fuels. Then they declared that the previous Congress for 12 years did nothing. I don't think they absolutely intended to mislead the American public on that, but they certainly did.

Just because of the effects of the Energy 2005 Act that we passed from the Republican House, let me read a list of renewable projects that have already started or are already showing results.

First of all, because of that legislation in 2005, 27 new ethanol plants have broken ground, 500 million gallons of new annual ethanol production is online already, 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol production are online by the end of 2006; 401 E-85 pumps, those are the pumps that can give you 85 percent ethanol if you pull up and have an engine that will burn ethanol; 25 new nuclear reactors are planned, 25,000 megawatts of electricity will be generated by 2020 if all 25 plants are built, 15 million households can be powered from the electricity by the 25 plants; 116,871 new hybrid vehicles have been purchased since January 1 of 2006, so the last calendar year, over 116,000 vehicles that are hybrids; there were 2,000 megawatts of new wind power.

Many of those wind generators went into the second district of New Mexico that I represent. Many others lie just outside the district. Wind generators are not suitable for all parts of the country, but New Mexico is one of the few States that could be self-sufficient on wind energy. Very few States are capable of doing that; 493,000 homes will now be powered by new wind power.

Three billion in economic activity is spurred by the wind power production. There is 7 billion pounds of CO2 offset by new wind power production, 1 million homes that can be powered by new wind power by the end of 2006, 100 percent increase in California and New Jersey and the applications for photovoltaic systems, 30 percent increase nationwide are solar, thermal collector installations. We had 15 new efficiency standards implemented for large appliances and 50,000 megawatts of energy saved by 2020 because of the 15 new efficiency standards.

Now, our friends today said frequently that they were giving comments like clean energy policy starts today. Well, they are making the implication that nothing was done previously, and such is just not the case.

An article in the Boston Globe on line today says that a man has been convicted driving under the influence for the 10th time today. He was sentenced to 4 1/2- 5 years in prison. On Christmas day he hit an ambluance going on a call with the lights on and injured two EMT'S. What do you think about that?

I was robbed on new years eve, and I caught the guy and had him arrested, he has sold all of my stuff (I wasn't insured) and the police are completely useless!! He is now constantly harrassing me saying he wont stop until I drop the charges against him. He has threatened to kill me and "cut up" my wife and two little girls.

How can I deal with this without putting myself at risk with the police?? Only yesterday he was outside my flat with about 10 of his so called "mates" and they were hurling abuse at me and stones at my windows. The police did nothing because they had no evidence.

He got someone else to beat up my brother whilst he watched, the police arrested the attacker and then released them the next day!

What can I do, its having serious effects on mine and my families mental health.

"Just as telling, in this year’s poll only 41 percent of the military said the U.S. should have gone to war in Iraq IN THE FIRST PLACE down from 65 percent in 2003. That closely reflects the beliefs of the general population today — 45 percent agreed in a recent USA Today/Gallup poll."

http://www.militarycity.com/polls/2006_main.php

HOW CAN THAT NUMBER CHANGE? Doesn't that tell you that one of those, if not both, is wrong?

---

Incedently, I've done my own "polling". Out of over 200 marines and navy soldiers/sailors, I met ONE person who did not think we should be in Iraq.
