My wife has a friend whose two sons are both arch-conservatives and they *love* Stephen Colbert's show.

Do you think that the Colbert Report actually helps the conservative Republican cause, even though Colbert thinks his ironic style is helping the liberal cause?

We already bar people with a criminal record or membership in certain proscribed organizations. Wouldn't the prudent course of action be to deny entry to a group of people who are over-represented among terrorists?

She must have listed me as either a reference or contact. I have received 5 calls from these folks - they were EXTREMELY rude when I told them to stop calling me as she does not and never has lived with me. Told them I consider their calls harassment since I have nothing to do with her finances (nor do we even live in the same state). Went through 3 people - was told that I would not be called any longer. As an aside, I told them that even if they were speaking to my daughter-in-law that these continuous calls would represent harassment. They informed me that they could call her every 2-3 days and not have it considered as harassment (by law). I honestly don't know all the details since I really don't discuss finances with my adult 'kids' BUT is that true?? What constitutes harassment by these folks? Thanks for any info.

Even though the presidential elections are more than a year away, the candidate speculation - with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama - is running rampant in political junkie circles. Best answer gets a pat on the back and delicious Nutty Bar.

I don't understand how our society can let this happen. Coerced evidence? That's confessions while you are tortured, and there was a thing like this we covered in school called "Witch Trials" where people were tortured until they confessed to practicing witch craft and then murdered under the name of God. Well, now it's "Terrorist Trials" and you are tortured to confess and then murdered in the name of convenience (after all, sorting through all that pesky evidence is to tedious, better to use the rumor mill as evidence). If you are for this (torture), you had better go watch some torture vids on youtube and the web because if that's what you are willing to have your government do, so you had better acknowledge the terrible suffering you implore, the terrible suffering that never had to be, but is.

We're attending an outdoor event (its an after race (running) party) and theres a note about strollers not being allowed in. Its quite a large space, not like people would are real crowded, we've been there before pre-kids so never noticed the stroller thing. Theres a childrens division - so its not like they are outlawing kids. There is a wheelchair division also and wheelchairs are obviously allowed. But since most infants cant walk, by that logic shouldnt strollers be allowed in.

Anyone in the AF security Forces have an oppinion on whether the SF is a good MOS to be in? When deployed do they actually do stuff besides just sitting there. I know they train in multiple weapons trainging or is it like being just a security guard. If possible, I'd like to hear from actual Security Force members. Thanks.
