The rule of thumb was a law in the early New England states stating that it was illegal to hit your wife with any stick larger in diameter than your thumb. Seems like things could be put back in order pretty quick that way to me.

All in favor...

Should we be forced to fight a war that has no morals. A war that is based on bad intellegence fixed or not. Should we be forced to fight in a false war that is seen as an occupation and not a war for democracy. They don't want our democracy why should we force it on them. It was supposed to be a waron terror because of 9/11, not a war for democracy.

I responded to a "the sky is falling" question by pointing out that Al Sadr is showing signs of returning to the political process. I was imediately blasted with a comment from a liberal that he is just preparing his army for a final offensive of some kind.

What is it about some people that immediately look for the worst case senerio? Yes Al Sadr ending his violence won't completely end this debacle, but it will sure help. It might mean fewer Americans will lose their lives in this war.

Why are some people looking for the bad in the good instead of the other way around?

I don't. Right now there are U.S. citizens who work minimum wage jobs and are living in vans (or out in parks). You see it all the time in the big cities here in Florida. I talk to these homeless families and vets in the park. Homelessness is worsening here. Instead of Bush playing Mayor of Baghdad, he should take care of matters at home first. I am sure there are better uses of tax dollars than this war.

...praise Allah!! The American people have spoken- Muslims in public office will run this country!! Yipee!
I guarantee all you Christians out there are watching this very closely- right??

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. - A congressman said Thursday that he will not retract a letter warning that unless immigration is tightened, "many more Muslims will be elected" and use the Quran to take the oath of office.
Republican Rep. Virgil Goode triggered angry responses from a civil rights group and some colleagues with a letter this month to constituents concerned about a decision by Rep.-elect Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the first Muslim elected to Congress, to use the Quran when he is sworn in.
