No. I don't have anything against Mormons and I don't think they're a cult. However, a Mormon president would put the LDS church in more power and in influential positions which would be harmful. Mitt Romney needs the LDS church to endorse him and help him in his campaign, he needs to make promises to the LDS high members. I think this will hurt him and Mormonism has been demonized by other Christians. Whatever Romney does wrong, it will hurt other Mormons.

I don't vote for a person because of their religous persuasion. I look at their track record on issues that are important to me. If a Mormon, Catholic, or Buddhist ran for president I would want to know their values and where they stand on upholding the law of our land, the Constitiution of the United States. I would want to know where they stand on issues important to me.

I assume you are talking about Mit Romney. The son of a former Michigan Govenor and presdential candidate.
He has been groomed for poltics since a baby. As a presidential candidate you must really look hard. He knows how to walk the walk and talk the talk.

I would only trust a Mormon president if the president:

1) or his/her spouse were black
2) were a democrat
3) were a woman

Why would I care if he or she was a Mormon? Unless they're polygamists, what difference would it make?

Hmmm - would Mormon underwear fit under an evening gown??

Religion generally doesn't have much to do with it, but I'm not comfortable with someone who can re-write such recent history (I mean, come on, Egyptian golden plates in upstate New York?) being in such a position of power.

I wouldn't vote for a Scientologist, either.

Maybe. I certainly wouldn't base my voting for him or not on him being a Mormon.

Probably not, but not because he or she was a Mormon, but because he or she was most likely conservative. For the right candidate, though, I overlook a lot.

All that I know is that Kennedy was Catholic. Of the 42 other presidents I don't know or care what their religion was. that's the way it should be.
