For example, by paying taxes, or voting, or working in office... do those count as giving back to one's nation? And I mean that a citizen must repay the government for the rights and privileges that the government gave to them in the first place. What are some other ways someone can give back to or support their government?

I vaguely remember seeing an answer in which someone stated "If you make less than $100,000 and are a republican, you are politically retarded." It just stood out and I wanted to ask you folks what you think about it. Pray tell.

Did you know that thomas jefferson had cabinet members from all the parties of the time, just he could listen to the debates between members over the issues. Why can't more people listen these days, and stop talking?

Ok, so many people come on here and complain how much they hate America and how "lovely", just and progressive everything is in other parts of the world.

My question is if you hate my country, why dont you just move away and start a new life in France or what ever other socialist country you wish we would model our government after?

I mean, seriously, if I hated a particular type of food, I would stop eating it. Why do you stay here and just bash us all that love our land to the core?

I know I want to be in a free and safe land. Thats why people from all over the world literally die to get here. I never hear the communist or socialist countries having imigration / alien problems.

I have never heard of the former USSR, E. Germany or the likes having to put up fences to keep people out. And how many people are lined up at the boarder of Mexico sneaking south at night?

Why do people listen to celebrities when they are talking politics? These people are professional con artists. They make their living getting you to belive they are someone else, in a movie. Would you get your political advice from the guy on the corner with the three shells and a pea? Besides who cares if they move to another country if so-and-so get elected? All I say is good ridence! Money and popularity do not equal political insight. Like Rosie O, carry your fat lesbian butt to Iraq or Iran and see how much money you make as an actress or comedian.

This is a story I heard. A kid (18) gets in a huge argument with his mother. The kid doesnt feel like arguing anymore so he leaves the home in his car (clearly avoiding conflict). The kid keeps calling back home to talk to his mother to sorta straighten things out. The mom keeps picking up the phone and hanging up refusing to talk to him. The kid finaly gets the answering machine. The kid leaves a message on the maching saying "quit being a p***y and pick up the phone (nobody answers) .... Ugh* B***h" and hangs up. The mother had already called the cops, because she was accusing the son of taking money from his sister. Clearly this is a stupid situation from the get go. The kid comes back home, shortly before the cops arrive. He doesnt argue with her anymore, the cops show up. The mother plays the message he had left for the cops. The cops accuse the kid of harassing his mother purely based on the fact he had left that message.

I was reading in my victimology book that if a woman first consents but then changes her mind and refuses to engage in the sexual acitivity it will not count as rape. I can understand why this is so, but wouldn't it still be considered rape given the circumstances of not wanting to go further. Any kind of help to make me understand this concept would be much appreciated, thank u in advance!!
