For example, by paying taxes, or voting, or working in office... do those count as giving back to one's nation? And I mean that a citizen must repay the government for the rights and privileges that the government gave to them in the first place. What are some other ways someone can give back to or support their government?

I guess instead of the word "repay," think "support." How does one support its government? Because if a government has no support, then how will it continue securing and protecting our rights? If we don't support our government, the government will fall and then some of our rights will go with it.

A citizen doesn't pay for their rights. The rights are not the governments to sell. They are the citizens birth right, a legacy from the founding fathers.
