I suggest you do some research on this program...it's not about "tapping" peoples phones.....as we already know...that area is well covered already.

I knew they had been doing it all along. Seriously I dont mean that to sound crazy, but I assumed the government monitored everything already. I heard along time ago from someone when I was a kid that they have super computers that filter all telephone conversations and certain words and phrases are flagged for follow up. Honestly they have always gone too far and it will never stop as long as there are people who are like well if I have nothing to hide what does it matter. If you are not willing to stand up and fight for the freedoms our forfathers died for you don't deserve them. If you are willing to give up those rights to keep you safe from a shadowy elusive terrorist you dont deserve them.

The government has been going too far for a long time now.

The party for smaller government has really lost its way. Our Constitution is supposed to ensure that the citizens are protected from the government. However, that has not been the case lately.

Terrorism, the modern day version of Communism, has been used as a blank check for the current administration to do just about anything it wants to.

We're essentially giving up our liberties for security, which as the venerable Ben Franklin said was an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Then there's the crowd that says, "If you haven't done something wrong, then what's the problem?". The problem being, who is defining what is wrong? The government. So what happens if the decide to change the meaning of wrong, such as owning a gun for example?

The president has the power to immediately declare anyone he wants as an enemy combatant with no oversight, no trial, and no warrant. He can go and order wire taps without a warrant. So who is making sure he isn't abusing his power?

How would you feel if a democrat could do these things?

It's ironic to think that so much attention is given to something that ranks in between being struck by lightening and being hit by an asteroid in the daily list of things that are most likely to kill you.

But people are beginning to snap out of the terrorism daze and seeing it for what it really is.

We'll have to wait and see if the democrats reverse this trend. It may be unlikely, but one can hope.

If it keeps America safe from terrorists they can listen to me talk to my mother or brother all they want. Most people don't realize, because the news is so anti-Bush, that the only conversations they are listening in on are international calls from certain countries and calls from within that contain certain "key words". Computers monitor the calls and listen for key words. Does the American public really think there are enough govt. employees to sit and listen to EVERY phone conversation that takes place inside the U. S.?
