for any politition to try to call themselves a patriot while at the same time trying to take your right to freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.
q#2: why must you agree with your government without question? wasnt it revolution that built this country and gave us our freedoms in the first place? wasnt it said by tomas jefferson himself that you must question your government if you think they are not doing what is best for the people? isnt a true patriot someone that accually cares enough about his country to stand and question when he thinks they are doing wrong, to search for the truth for him/her self, and not follow the government blindly!

I am a contract employee and have been talking with my employer (not agency) since my start date about being hired on full-time with the company. They love my performance and think the world of me.

When getting to know them, they asked certain questions about my personal life (spouse, children, etc.) and I confided in them that my husband is attending graduate school and we are originally from another town.

Then, things changed. I was talking with my employer who then asked about my anticipated length of service. I told them at least 2 years, due to my current situation. They told me they don't know if they want to take that risk with me (hire me on as a regular employee). They want a firm commitment for longer than that amount of time from me.

The agency wants me to stay on a permanent temp to get more money. Is this discrimination? What are my rights?

The situation is dire, we only control the president, the congress, the federal and supreme court and the local school boards!

What can we do to keep protect ourselves from the liberal onslaught against our values and agenda?

Or do you think foreign aggression just randomly falls out of the sky for no reason?

If the USA had not been engaging in bipartisan meddling in other countries' affairs for more than a century, would say, for example, Islamic extremists, no matter how unhinged in their Muslim homelands, be flying planes into our skyscrapers?

Even if Coca-Cola sells product in these countries and they "hate our way of life", if we didn't have military bases and such abroad would they seriously be wasting their energy to change our US theocracy from one of Christianity to one of Sharia Law?

Out of sight, out of mind? Is there something to be said for keeping a low profile in foreign relations?

Real-Public-Killers = Republicans

Iraq is not simply a US electoral issue. It's a human tragedy of biblical proportions. Hence the urge at this point to situate the tragedy in a historical context.
.
In AD 750 the Abbasid Dynasty "de-Bedouinized" Islam by defeating the Ummayad Dynasty based in Damascus. The culture of the Abbasid court ceased being Arab-only and started to include Persia and the Turks. Islam turned into a universal religion, no more constrained by geography. "Baldach" - that's what European travelers called Baghdad up to the late 18th century - was catapulted to the center of the world.
.
From AD 786-809, under fabled Haroon al-Rashid - who established relations with Tang Dynasty China and the "illiterate emperor" Charlemagne - Baghdad gave the world astronomy, alchemy, hydraulics, diplomacy, fiscal administration and the postal service. Up to the early 12th century it remained the most important intellectual center in the world.

Why are Republicans saying that the Democrats are exploiting Michael J. Fox (who chose to do the commercial) and calling the whole thing foul, but it was okay for them to expliot Terry Shivo (who had no say in the matter) and run her family through the wringer?

Setting a timetable and getting out of Iraq instead of escalating hatred for America...then working on defense rather than offence to keep America safe.
OR
Struggle to get the Iraqi military and government working right even though it seems like they never will be functional...and in time making the insurgent situation even worse. But having an offensive strategy to catch terrorists while we wait.

Which is better?

I am looking for a simple quiz to take where you enter information indicating your stance on each issue and how strongly you feel, and then have the quiz match your results with the candidate(s) who share the same views.

That would make voting so much easier. Everytime I think I find a candidate I like, I find out that he or she opposes something I am for or supports something I am against.

I have never understood how "they" can just pretend that people who are not affiliatied with either the Rep or Dem party shouldn't be given the same opportunities to speak, etc. The Florida Governors race is the perfect example. Any ideas on this?
