Well, just tell her like that, tell her exactly what you have told us. Your life is not the only one that sucks buddy! My husband is deployed and in the 7 years that we have been married we have missed wedding anniversaries, birthdays, holidays and he won't be here for the birth of our first baby, I will have to send him the baby delivery in a tape to Iraq I guess, now how nastier can it get? Look at the bright side YOU ARE STILL ALIVE and instead of getting all depressed over missing a Holiday thank God every day for what you DO have!

Yeah, it must be absolutely terrible to get paid to learn, and then go back to Korea where your allowed to drink. Meanwhile, I've had the fortune of spending two of the last four Christmases away from my family and to spend this coming CHrstmas working 12 hour days in a warzone.

If she married you knowing that you are in the military she should understand. It's part of the military wife/family life. Unfortunately wars dont care about the day of the week or anyhting like that. If she really loves you just be honest, she has to get used to it sooner or later.

Just tell her. She's a military wife, she can handle it. My husband leaves for Iraq on Nov 7th and will return sometime next year. I'm not sitting in a corner crying. I'm not even complaining about it. That's military life :)

1) Open your mouth. 2) say the words, "we aren't going home for the holidays, 3) tell her the reasons
If she throws a temper tantrum, you need a new wife. By the way, are you whipped?

Military wives are much stronger than given credit for. Just tell her, the sooner the better. She may fuss, or cry for a bit.....but deep down she understands....she may not like it....but she understands.

PLEASE try to be as honest as possible, she might be angry or sad when you tell her, that's unavoidable, but she'll be grateful later when she thinks about it because you were honest and you tried to be with her but you coudn't. The most important ingredient for a happy marriage is communication, so hang in there and I wish you could be with your family now and I wish for you to be safe out there.
