looking for some real legal advise because there is now a level 2 sex offender on my street just 815 feet from a very large daycare and I can't seem to find very many laws clearly stating what restriction may apply. Please help I have 2 children on the same age as the one he offended and if there is anything I can legally do I would like to: saratoga NY

Depends on the local laws. If you don't like the laws concerning this in your town, ask your town councilman to propose legislation.

The other thing to do is make sure your kids, the daycare operator, and the parents of the children attending it are aware of the situation.

Just remember that the sex offender is a person too. He is probably trying to get his life on track and trying to stay on the straight and narrow. Try to give him the chance to prove himself. I am not saying let the children play at his house, but I am not incouraging you to grab a torch and pitchfork either. Keep a sharp eye out, but give him the benefit of the doubt until you has grounds for suspecions.

No doubt it is probably OK with the law
If I were the leader sex offenders would not be living anywhere.

They should have notified everyone living in the area in order for this person to gain clearance to live in the area. If the neighborhood does not want him there, you all have the right to voice your opinion & have him gone. I would def. take this to your City Hall.

i think it just depends on what the judge says, and what is in his probabtion restrictions.. but he has to registor with the state and they have his address.. and they will know where he can and cant live...
