It looks like they are considering it, in the absence of nationwide enforcement:

"The City Council will meet Thursday to discuss ramping up ordinances to combat illegal immigration, including new anti-loitering laws, sanctions against those who hire or rent living space to undocumented immigrants and a training program that would allow police officers to act as immigration officials. Council members say they’ve been talking about doing so for several years"

Others object, and here is what I think is a hilarious objection:

"Gascón said that a shortstaffed police department should not be distracted by whether the people committing the crimes are here illegally. "

What do you think?

You are so used to being lied to in your party and having to accept all the deviants - how can you get up in the morning? With so much perversion around you does it lead you to therapy?

Most of the top Indian businessmen are investing in China in a big way. China has become the next attractive destination for top professionals. Most of the NRI investors feel that India is 30 years behind China today.

The Indian public is foolish to believe that some miracle is going to happen and their great leaders will transform India in to a paradise on earth. The truth is, they are just joining hands with MNCs and are working on full rupee convertibility to manage their wealth outside India.

"I am very astonished about why you need a day of mass resistance. it is told you have one of the most traditional democratic systems. no? the mass of your people two times had the chance to elect their government - and they two times elected the same. so what suddenly is wrong with it? can the mass be wrong? and if the mass is wrong, what do you need your democratic system for? doesn't in a democratic system the elected government fullfill the will of the mass? really, from outside I cannot understand this."

Is this a liberal conspiracy to bring back the issue of gun control?

Will I get blasted by liberals who cannot believe my insensitivity?
Will the liberals learn how some of us feel about their treatment of our military?
Will the liberals learn how it feels when someone berates our President while our nation is at war?
Will the liberals accuse the republicans of causing the school shootings because we uphold the 2nd amendment?
Will the liberals blame the shooters?
Will anything get done to ensure that our schools are safer for our children, or will the liberals accuse us of taking our children's rights away?

If you are a died-in-the-wool Republican or Democrat, then please don't respond to this. I would like responses from those of you who are honestly undecided each year when it is time to vote (especially for President)

It is said that about 20% of Democrats will always vote Democrat, and the same for Republicans. Another 15% of both parties usually always vote for their party (without really thinking about it), but might change if there is a major issue that influences them in the short term. But what about the other 30% of Americans. How do you decide who to vote for? Do you place some specific issues over others? Please take a few minutes and explain to me why you had a hard time choosing Bush vs. Kerry. Again, about 70% of Americans will be able to tell a pollser who they will definitely vote for in 3 seconds FLAT. What keeps you from deciding. To be honest, I don't completely understand this indecision, so please enlighten me.

I have have spent the last week, with high fevers/vomiting and now secondary infection to my chest! If someone hit me with their fist out of the blue in the middle of the street, that is assault! whats the difference? Ive spent a week in bed and feel weak and leaving to live overseas 20th Oct, I am cancelling trip as cant get out of my leased house in time due to this horrendous illness. So, why do people think they have the right to cough in your face (I also had this happen last year in the supermarket whilst reaching for a food item), no time to protect myself.....if our flu virus gets any worse we could be looking at death by coughing.so %$#@8selfish!!!

Aide says he reported Foley 3 years ago
By DEVLIN BARRETT and DAVID ESPO, Associated Press Writers 2 hours, 2 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - House Speaker Dennis Hastert's political support showed signs of cracking on Wednesday as Republicans fled an election-year scandal spawned by steamy computer messages from former Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record) to teenage male pages.

At the same time, Foley's former chief of staff said in an Associated Press interview that he first warned Hastert's aides more than three years ago that Foley's behavior toward pages was troublesome. That was long before GOP leaders acknowledged learning of the problem.

Kirk Fordham, who was Foley's top aide until January 2004, said he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene" several years ago.

I thought you could only get unemployment, welfare, food stamps, etc. if you have proof you're a citizen. At least two proofs, from what I've been told. So, how do they get those, and if they don't, why do people still say they're costing the US tax-payer's money. Elementary, Junior/middle and highschools are for the children of immigrants... who are natural born citizens, so that means it's not illegals costing US tax-money, but citizens costing US tax-money. Also, universities will ask you for at least 2 proofs of ID and citizenship or they won't accept you... So how?

I need to argue that is it okay to keep a sexual predator in a state mental institution after serving their sentence in state jail. The guy says that it is double jeopardy but why is it not? O and the guy was deemed to be still dangerous by the state.

If you have any links that would be nice but just tell me whatever.

IF Pakistan has yet to ratify either of the treaties, why hasn't it ratified it yet?
What role have landmines played in the development/destruction of Pakistan?
What are the strengths and failings of the CCW treaty and its second protocol regarding landmines?
Should nations use the CCW treaty or the Ottawa treaty as a basic framework for future landmine agreements?
Please cite sources if you can so I can research the subject further. Thanks.
