I have seen quite a few people who either assume that opposition to illegal immigration is race-based or state it outright, and it confuses me. Every country - including Mexico - has problems with illegal immigration, yet no one seems to be accusing them of racism. Heck, South Africa banned white immigrants for a couple of years. We heard a lot about apartheid, but nary a word about that.

Some of you will probably say it's because we are focussed on Mexico. It's true that Mexican illegals get a lot of press, but I think that's because they constitute the largest group and because both the Mexican government and Mexican citizens are so vocal about it.

So - can someone please explain to me why my opposition to people breaking the laws of my country automatically brands me racist? I really do want to understand your reasoning.

Oh - and if your answer is something along the lines of "it's obvious", then please don't bother. "It's obvious" simply means you don't know either

Imagine if Condoleeza Rice went into the national archives while the 9-11 Commission was investiging how the Bush Administration handled itself prior to the attacks and not only removed classified documents by stuffing them in her underwear, but actually destroyed them. This is precisely what Sandy Berger, National Security Advisor under Bill Clinton, did.

He tried cashing a fraudulent check and then realizing the gig was up - he ran out of the bank - got in his car and drove away. They got his plate number. This was a week ago, and just when he started to think he maybe got away with it - the detective came a knocking. They have him on camera obviously. Can someone advise a little bit here as to how to beat this? I advised him to not talk to the detective and let them pursue the case. Wait for the warrant and arrest - talk to his lawyer only.... Is there anyway before it go's to trial to see if they have the bank video-tape and the clarity of that evidence? Whats your advice? Thankyou

Chertoff's advancement in 19 months from assistant attorney to Secretary of Homeland Security nominee- "It's an exceptional rise to power," -Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch

My fiance will be stationed at Fort Hood at the end of this year and I will be going with him for the first time. So far, I haven't heard very many good things about the area and I have to admit I'm very apprehensive about moving there. I'm hoping to hear about the best areas to find an apartment , job prospects, crime rates etc. but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Foley has checked himself in to an "undisclosed Rehab" for treatmen to Alcoholism ... ironicly, now he's conveniently an alcoholic which gets him out of the spot light and into a protected facility after his resignation. Is Foley getting Special Treatment? Anyone else would be in jail by now ... as seen on TV. What do you think?
