$600 from one employer or $7200 in a year

I don't think there's any amount of money that the government won't tax. Granted of course people don't want to work for pennies a day. That's just the way it is, you get employed, they give you a check, and Uncle Sam takes out his share every time, guaranteed, no matter if you're making 6/hr of 600/hr. Even if you have a job that pays you under the table, the IRS will probably eventually find out, sorry to say, and ask for their share.

It's also different for each state, but I'm not sure about the exact federal amount. It probably changes depending on how much you file? It's a shame our tax code is so needlessly complicated, but a bigger shame that our taxes are so high. :(

$600.00 otherwise it's taxed or you're sent a 1099 to pay the tax yourself at the end of the year.
