No. Not the way things are, at this point in time.
First of all, there are many different sets of problems, in the Middle East. One problem is that some countries have very young populations. I'm talking about places where half of the people in the country are younger than 25. These kids are educated, but often they are only educated in things like Islamic Studies. They have no jobs, and no skills to use, in getting jobs. So they are sitting around, bored, looking at the injustices in the world, and feeling like there's no hope to make a better life.
Another problem is that most of the countries of the Middle East are dictatorships. Yeah, some of them might CALL themselves democracies, but their political systems are rigged so that only the same faces get to stay in power. This situation also cultivates a sense of despair in the population.
And then, there's the problem with Israel and her neighbors, a battle that's been going on for thousands of years.
None of these situations can be solved by the United States. The only thing that the United States can do, if we want to take a constructive role in the Middle East, is to take a more balanced approach to the situation, over there. We need to be seen as being fair and in favor of people having the kinds of Governments that they want to have.
First of all, we need to stop giving Israel a free rein. We need to stop vetoing every resolution about Israel that comes out of the UN Security Council. Then, we need to start talking to the leaders of Middle Eastern countries, and advocate more fairness and openness, even if it means that the people in those countries would prefer to have Governments that keep their distance from the US.
The US is supposed to be a single country, not an empire. We can be "first among equals", maybe, if other nations, our equals, decide that they want us to lead them. But it's not our place to rule other countries or install governments or stage coups.
If the US were to deal a little more respectfully with other countries, treading carefully when dealing with them, rather than threatening to "bomb them into the stone age", then I think that other countries would have greater respect for the US. Only if all parties in the Middle East have a real respect for (as opposed to fear of) the US can there be any hope that the US can have a constructive role to play in the Middle East or elsewhere.

My answer to this would be no. Because we have tried for year going all the way back to the Carter adminstation years. And, still yet we still see fighting in the Middle East. I dont think its going to happen. But, we can only pray that peace is the best solution (but we been doing that for years). So, I think Im out of opitions here.

No. The US only fuels the problem by financially supporting the terrorist state of Israel. If it weren't for the financial support of US to Israel, many innocent lives would be saved and the Palestinians and Israelis would be forced to talk things our instead of Israel strong-arming Palestine and building walls. Plus, the US can't even solve it's own problems, what makes you think they can solve the Palestine/Israel conflict?

Well we started it. If we leave things will return to normal eventually. We were attacked with airliners packed full of americans. None of us stopped going to work or paying our bills. Regardless of geography and religion humans want normalcy in their lives. If we would have helped build their infrastructure rather than attacking them the crisis would have been solved much quicker. Perhaps in the next administration we'll start working to solve the crisis rather than making things worse.

US can succeed in anything we want to. It's politics that screw it up. I don't even want to go there. With all the intelligence and military capability we have, you want to tell me we can't get Bin Ladin (or however you spell it)? OOOhhh I'm too pissed. Sorry, gotta change subjects.

They can, but it can't be done without a lot of help from other countries. Unilateralism is not the answer. It's also not going to be solved by brute force.
