So I know my life isn't as horrible as others but I've been thinking about getting emancipated but my dad has already said he will fight against it if I ever try. I've been really stressed out with all the rules he has been laying down on me and I can't do anything. I sit in my room everyday with my door shut having hardly any communication with anyone other than my friends at school because he hardly lets me go out and do things (though some of it is my fault). And I am trying to get our relationship back in order but my dad is just too busy with School and Work that I hardly see him as it is. And by the time he's done with his school, which takes a lot out of his time, I will already be graduated and ready to head for college. I know all the rules about emancipation because I have looked up a lot of information, but I also know that the court can keep me from being emancipated as well as my dad. So I was wondering if I have to have a good enough reason to gaurentee my emancipation?

I just purchased a few things from a store in Orange County. I was just calculating all my costs and noticed that they're sales tax charged me incorrectly. The receipt states correctly that 7.750% should be taxed off the subtotal. But it actually charged 8.25% (which is LA's sales tax). My calculations were done with excel I double checked. Who should I report this to?

I was under the impression we are allies. Thats why we have forces fighting , getting wounded and dying in Afghanistan. I assumed the 5 Canadians killed and 39 wounded by your pilots were accidents. I'm beginning to wonder was that "Friendly Fire" really "Friendly"?

I have some very good friends who are police officers, but recently in the Orlando area a man shot and killed a officer. They shut down an entire county to find the killer and eventually shot and killed the suspect. The entire police force and swat teams from 3 counties were outr search for one man. They also shut down 3 area high schools and caused a 35 mile traffic backup. This was awesome as they got thier man, but how is the life of one officer any different than yours or mine? Should they not put forth the same effort when you or I are assulted...I think not, We deserve the same justice as any other human being. Seperating the police from our society only causes a largfer riff than what already exists...

I hope the police understand the image they are creating for themselves. If you are in the Ghetto or a Rural area, you are lucky to get a officer sent out for a robery....

people always say that anti-illegals are racist?

here's my guess:

they say that mexicans and illegal aliens are criminals and need to go to mexico. yet while they say this, there are worse and more important thing happening.

we were at war recently and all america could focus on was a bunch of mexicans comin' in from the south.

also, with the mentality that we must boot them all out, why not the criminals in america? why isn't anyone all up-tight about that? there are more crimes committed in america by americans than illegal immigrants, yet we only focus on the minority.

i don't personally think that anti-illegals are racist, but a few of the things i said, i do believe.

i am a graduate and i got a good honours degree. i dont expect to be a millionaire and in fact just expect a living wage like everybody else but **** me why do the politicians insist on people going to uni when most graduates cant get jobs. i would have been better just leaving school at 16 without debt quite frankly. anybody else think the same?

I live in Tennessee and, of course, the midterm elections are coming up. One of the candidates, a conservative Republican, keeps mentioning that the Democratic candidate is a liberal (he is more of a moderate), as if that is a bad thing. I think one of the worst things that has ever has happened to liberalism is that the liberals have become more moderate or don't call themselves liberals for fear of being slandered. Those who are liberals should be proud to call themselves liberals. Why? We liberals are and believe in:

Clean Air and Water.
Civil Rights.
Free Speech.
Pro-choice.
Pro-Environment
Progressive Taxation
Separation of Church and State.
Social Security.
Universal Healthcare.
Workers' Rights.

These are just a few issues, and having these ideas is in no way bad.

But, anyways, do you think that liberal has become a dirty word? Please give me your thoughts.

First of all, I am a single mother. I have 5 children. I do not read or write English. I speak very little. I am Asian. I will tell you a little of what is going on. Police officer is interfering with private civil matters. I am being evicted from my home illegally. This officer is forcing my landlord to kick me out. Landlord refuses because there are no grounds. Officer claims the property is a nuisance. Police threaten to fine landlord. Same officer has called the City Inspector accusing my yard of being messy. Inspector found no problem. Police officer also called the local housing authority, accusing me of committing fraud. In turn, a private investigator was sent to scrutinize me. My civil rights have been violated. Officers entered my home w/o my permission twice. I was unjustly given a citation for disorderly conduct. This is the first ticket I received in my whole life. That officer also has a neighbor across the street video taping me. That neighbor has also stalked me by following my vehicle. Theofficer and neighbor email each other, phone, and talk in person. That same officer called my home from his squad car to tell me I needed to be out by Friday (which has since past). He also said the City Mayor decided I would not have a chance to dispute and I would have to move and that was it! All this stress has taken a toll on me. It has adversely affected my health. I cannot eat or sleep and I get headaches. Remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg! Please Help!!!

I would like to know, legally, what is slander? How do you define it and what can you do about it if it is slander?

My question stems from a website which monitors other sites for spam activity. How it works is their spider fills in forms and signs up for mailing lists with a unique name and then determins how much spam is sent to that email address in order to calculate just how "spammy" a website is.

My website, www.antiqueshoppingguide.com has been in business for over 5 years. We have never resorted to spamming in any shape or form to get our business across to others.

I am working at a local domestic violence refuge, and it is claimed that there have been some discrepances and I am to blame and I have been suspended however I have not been informed what the problems are and have not been given the oppotunity to defend myself and have been told that if I resign then nothing further will be done. I have being posting a series of questions and I learn that most people do not understand the real problem with immigration. Is the Mexicans like everybody think and focus on. Is the HIPOCRITS AmeriKKKans that refuses to deal with the real solution. why don't the US goes and fines every employer that hires illegal fine them so heavy that no employer will dare to hire them. Mexicans only come here because there is work, make this impossible and you will get rid off illegal aliens.
