You seem to be saying that a disproportionate number of Americans are anti-illegal and in some ways anti-Mexican, and that they are obsessed with this all consuming subject of immigration. Yet, I've found the opposite to be true. There are a handful of people intently focused on the subject because it has affected them personally and they want to expose this problem to the rest of Americans who seem to be ignoring it all together. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE in my large extended white American family is worried about immigration issues except me. But I have been personally affected by it in ways they haven't. My family members in management hire legal Mexicans and like them as much or more as other Americans. My family members who work and go to church feel the same way about Mexicans that they do about other Americans. But they all have a support system, an income or insurance and their conflicts don't involve the masses of illegals the way mine do. The people most affected by immigration have been the poor, people living along the border, immigration (ice, etc.), law enforcement, social services and the like. Now that we are losing our middle class and the division between rich and poor is growing, AND illegals are here in large numbers demanding the rights of citizenship, this will affect more and more people.
Disagreement is not racist. White and racist are not synonymous. Just because I'm white and I disagree with what a large number of mostly Mexicans are doing, doesn't mean I'm racist against Mexicans. If you remove the race from the problem you will still have the same problem.
As to needing to focus on other criminals, most people do. Most Americans are not criminals. It has come to our attention that some groups living in America have higher crime rates than other groups and NO it ISNT just petty theft and other economic issues as some would have you believe. It is also violence. We can't ignore a higher crime rate in one group of people just because that happens to be a racial group just like we can't ignore the fact that most criminals are male.

Because deporting illegal immigrants and using them as scapegoats is easier than admitting that there is are serious problems in America. We are in need of serious social reform, but everyone wants to turn away from the real issues at hand.
Americans are employing illegal immigrants.
Americans aren't willing to work for the low wages they are.
Americans drain the government's funds for social aide by refusing to get (better) jobs or selling food stamps for drugs. Illegals can't get even welfare.
Americans act like their ancestors were never immigrants or needed work.
Americans have entitlement issues - the government owes them something.
Americans murder, rape, steal and run from the law. No one sees the problem with that?
We should stop crimes and injustices on the home front before pointing the finger to people who are doing the work we are too good for.

i agree and dis agree. no were not AL racist. we just don't think it is right the illegals are here. and yes they are breaking the U. S. A law by coming in illegal. you know this to be true, your an American. there are more illegal Mexicans then any other race. were not just complaining about the illegal Mexicans, it's all illegals.
and I've always said any one who hurts or molest a child, needs to go to the electric chair. any one who rapes some one needs to be electrocuted.
and I've always said when aids came out, is they need to send them to an island some where in the ocean. that's just how i see things, and I'm sure there's other Americans that feel the same way. the legal immigrants who payed to be here feel the same way. peace out.

They throw out the race card because they have simply run out of arguments,or they reach a point where they know they have already lost the argument. There is no rational way to support illegal immigrants, there are legal ways to enter our country,in order to work in the country without legal status it's necessary to commit further crimes such as either tax evasion or document fraud, both of which are felonies,so any argument which supports their status is an effort to aid and abet felons,it's a difficult argument to make under the best of circumstances and you throw in felonies and the task becomes harder. So lacking a strong or correct argument they resort,in desperation, to personal attacks because that's all they have left,so anti illegal immigration people are called racist rather than debating them.

I agree that while illegal immigration (not Mexico) is a problem, there are much higher things on that list that we need to take care of first.
However, anti-illegals are not racists.
Those who are anti-Mexican illegals are.

I find pro CRIMINALs more racist than anyone on here. Most of the time they only call us the 'r' word when they have exhausted their other "arguments". They know they have lost.
