With the recent two presidential elections being so close, wouldn't a strong moderate destroy both ends?

Many moderates are independent, but at the end of the day they vote Republican.

30 years ago the Democratic party represented everyone, from the left to the ultra right. Now the Dems have limited their focus on the left, alienating the moderates and the conservatives who espoused the ideals of that party.

With the movement of the democrat party to the extreme left socialist position it pretty much leaves the repubs who are really the only moderates left in America.

You reference to the elections should be a clue. Clitoon ran as a moderate and won, then America found out the truth that he is a leftist extreme and voted out the leftist democrats in 1994. Since then the moderates have won congress and the WH at each and every election since. So you can see by the vote who supports a moderate position and that is who America votes for.

Hitlery is positioning herself as much as possible as a moderate but with her plans to take healthcare into government control that puts her pretty far left of center. But why do you think she is trying to position herself as a moderate? Because she knows the repubs are the moderates and that is who is winning elections.

The socialist propaganda machine is fueled by massive amounts of cash all being spent on democrat candidates, unions, lawyers, lobbyists, insurance companies you name it, if it is socialist it is dumping big time cash into the demo coffers.

Really there should be room for another party since the dems are now really a socialist party.

Not all republicans are conservation nor are all democrats liberals. The problem with a moderate party is that by definition it does not have a strong stand on anything. People when they vote want to be motivated by ideas not wishy washyness. That is why the right wing of the Republican party is its defining force and the same is true for the democratic party. While most people do not agree with everything that these groups stand for, none the less these are the issues that motivate people to vote.

"Moderates" are people who sit on the fence. Sit on a fence long enough and you get a picket up your butt.
Not all Republicans are conservative. Not all Democrats are liberal, but it might be as high as 99% liberal.
There is nothing good about being "moderate." It means to me that a person is wishy-washy, afraid to take a stand, unable to stake out a position.
The term "strong moderate" is an oxymoron. You cannot be strong on anything if you don't take a position on anything.

Unlike what neo-con propaganda wants people to believe, the moderates are the conservatives (like McCain and Romney) and liberals (like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama). If you want moderates, you shouldn't vote for neo-cons like Cheney or Rummie or Frist. These guys are radical neo-cons, dragging America and the world into a perilous abyss...

When voting for president, Senate or Congress, make sure you vote moderate, whether it be Democrat or Republican.

At the moment, the most radical politicians in the US are not in the Democratic party, they are in the Republican and they are called neo-conservatives.

economic Conservative. completely disagree with Mary's rivalry that it really is taken over through social conservatives. It began at the same time as Ron Paul formed it. in spite of the indisputable fact that, like many third party communities this got here aside. It turned right into a chief searching for a set, and Ron Paul changed into no longer something extra then a libertarian searching for followers. economic Conservatives took carry of the Tea party because of their anger over Obamacare, Stimulus spending, bailouts, and taxes. 2-thirds of tea party menbers evaluate themselves "conservative" in accordance to a Harris poll. i do no longer trust there's a good "social conservative" circulation contained in the tea party. it is a narrative the Dems placed out to discredit the Tea party....all component of the category conflict attitude they placed out. The declare is they are all bigots, yet no longer one little bit of evidence has ever been presented to help this. Blacks characterize 8% of tea party individuals. And the majority are center income human beings. Social subject matters are there yet no longer that prime of value. they are extra drawn to preserving authorities out of their company.

Neither. That is why I am so disillusioned with both.

Look for the moderate candidates, rather than voting along party lines.
