I just got this little dwarf hamster, she is now living with the dwarf i had before (Ricky Bobby's Sister, thats her name...don't ask)

Well, this hamster is very small, sweet, dark greyish brown fur, white paws, white tips on her ears, and a white tip on her tail

Im not really sure of what type of personality she has yet, ive only had her for a few hours...but what I can tell so far is she is very sweet, active, very curious, and extremely cute

What do you think I should name her

ps...its a female russian dwarf

I have a rat called Mischief who's just over a year old and I want to make her cage more entertaining for her.
Any ideas of stuff that I could put in there to make it better for her? Simple things around the house or something?

Also, because she is on her own, what can I do to make her happier?

Thanks

my hamster has a weird growth on his stomach. i noticed it while he was stretching. it is pink and a little black. i didn't look at too much because it upset me. what could this be? he's a two year old dwarf hamster. he has trouble walking now and i assume its because of this thing and i also noticed he hasn't been grooming himself.

Is it ok to give my two guinea pigs lettuce and cucumbers every day? Occasionally I give them bell pepper with it or carrots or celery, but every day I give them lettuce and cucumbers? They eat it all to!

Okay, I'm planning on getting two, male rats and I've been having issues deciding on a cage! Right now, I'm interested in the Super Pet Multi-Floor Ferret Home, ( http://www.petco.com/product/15487/Super-Pet-Multi-Floor-Ferret-Home.aspx ) and I was wondering if it's a decent sized cage for two rats, or if I should possibly go with the Deluxe version of the cage...? If there's any other cages you might suggest, feel free to let me know. :)

Ok, so on monday, I had 3 hamsters, 2 are dwarfs that live together...or did live together

Well, one of the dwarf hamsters had a trajic fall on monday, and died, so, now her cagemate is very depressed and lonely, isn't acting like herself at all, I feel SO bad for her because she has never been alone, for more than 30 minutes for her entire life!

My parents won't let me get a new hamster because they are tired of all these animals I have, (ive got 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 cockatiel, 2 fishtanks, and now, 2 hamsters)

But, the hamsters live in my room, don't smell, don't cost them ANY money, don't make noise...and basically don't affect my parents at all

I just don't understand why my parents are acting like this, my poor hammy is all alone, and so sad

Is it because they are trying to show me that they are the parents, and that I don't always get what I want (im 15 years old, by the way)

I just don't feel like they are being fair, I wouldn't ask for another hamster, if I didn't

Well, my guinea pig, Popcorn, is really weird. She falls into a deep sleep right after she eats. Even if you poke her with your finger she will not wake up. But, I touch her rump gently and then she wakes up. It looks like she's dead and it worries me. She has only done this 2 times. Is this something I should worry about, or am I over reacting? Please Help! ASAP! :(

I posted this question about Ferrets in the Reptiles area, lol, I'm reposting it.

But this time I want to know about Chinchilla's as well.
About ferrets:

Do they always smell bad? If not, how expensive to remove the smell?
How do you bathe them?
What do you feed them?
Are they costly?
Do they bite, generally, or not?
Are they good companions?
What do I need to provide them with?
and etc.

As for chinchillas:

How much are they?
How much room to they need?
What kind of food do I feed them?
How do you bathe them?
Can they live in the city?
Are they alot like hamsters?
Are they okay to be left alone? How long if so?

and for both of them:

How big of an area do they need to be in?
Are they dangerous, if bitten by one?

etc.

THanks much!

he is almost 11 months old. how do i tell if he is lonely. i take him out during the day. since school it starting tommorow i want to get him a friend so he wont be lonely when im at school. i alredy have extra cubes and coroplast from when i made his cage so the expantion shouldn't be hard. when would be the ideal age to get him a friend? i was planning on waiting untill like december when i can ask for it as a present. im planning on getting another male so that i dont have to get him nutered. my vet and the animal shelter said that getting him a buddy would not really be a good idea but i think he would be much happier with a friend. how can i convince my parents that i am ready for another one and that its really what is best for the guinea pig. i'm going to start by cleaning my room. i have alredy started walking the dog every day and my guinea pig is certainly getting all of the care he needs (possibly more). i only want serious answers please.

Over the last couple of days, I have done a TON of research over rats and I'm convinced a rat is perfect for me. But I already have a gerbil, had him since February, and I love him so much. I have already talked to my mom about getting a rat, and she actually wants one! But I don't know if I got one, would my gerbil feel left out? I know I will keep spending as much time with him and the rat as possible, I think it will just feel wierd....?

I've got a rat who, after being in the cage with two others, is always stressed and un-happy. But when I put her in another cage to be by herself, she perks up. I'm not sure why, but do you think it's possible the rat prefers to be by itself? Or just does not like the other rats?

I feed my guinea pig plenty of veggies a day, but I do leave piggy food and hay in his cage for if he wants something other then veggies or if he runs out of veggies, or something like that. We bought him FIESTA, but I read online that nuts and seeds are bad for them. I just realized now that FIESTA has pumpkin seeds(i think that's what they are) and some sort of nuts(it might be like pistachios or something like that). Is it safe for him?
