Guinea pigs are social animals by nature and should be housed in groups of 2 or more of the same species. Rats are to be housed with rats, guinea pigs are to be housed with guinea pigs. They have different dietary requirements, housing requirements and general care requirements.

Guinea pigs hardly ever bite, if they bite it is usually due to mites. I suggest you get him checked out at a professional exotic vet. Treatment will include 2 or more doses of Ivermectin spaced 7-10 days apart. Here is more information:

We have both, but I wouldn't dare let our rats, especially our hairess girl, get too close to our guinea pig. There's a real possibility that either one could hurt the other.
Also, as others have noted, rats & guinea pigs have *very* different dietary & housing needs.

no they have different dietary needs. and rats like to have lots of stimulation like ramps and multi-leval cages wich are bad for guinea pigs. rats need more stimulation then guinea pigs because i hate to say it being a guinea pig owner but rats are a little smarter.

I somewhat have recognized this too, although for now I somewhat have 2 amazing female rabbits. you're able to look into their known existence span needless to say and undergo in ideas vet fees, time intake and residing situations. in case you reside someplace wherein there may well be continuously drama, poor climate or temperature fluctuations, smoke, or loud music then a stay pup that lives indoors or everywhere wherein he/she additionally would be susceptible to those situations isn't the object for you. while you're long previous for greater desirable than six to eight hours of the day, then the two purchase your pup a mate or in basic terms does no longer have one in any appreciate. if your guinea pig or diverse animal has a heat temperature stroke or an abscess will you're taking it to the vet? in case you won't have the capacity to discover a veterinarian, will you recognize a thank you to treat the dilemma without inflicting the animal greater suffering? Are you vulnerable to handle the animal properly without objection or stubbornness? [occasion: A relative of mine thinks vets are an entire waste of money pondering animals could the two get greater or get placed down and that animals could be equipped to consume fairly a lot some project persons may even as in reality that animals do no longer look information against the junk we put in to our our bodies.] Is a guinea pig the suited option for me or is it in basic terms those amazing aspects that I get exhilaration from? could I easily be vulnerable to handle an animal if I had it? those are in basic terms some questions think approximately to ask your self [easily] till now than bringing him/her domicile. often times we in basic terms could get exhilaration from from afar, although each and each as quickly as in a even as we detect that pup that matches us in basic terms spectacular.
