All they eat is their romaine lettuce, completely ignore all vegetables. I put them in a small bin that they can access. First, I tried putting them directly in front of them when I put them back in their cage after floor time. Next, I tried separating the vegetables into different little dishes just in case they wouldn't eat them because they were mixed in with other veggies they dislike. No go. Is there a trick I can use to make them eat them? All they eat is the romaine lettuce, hay, and pellets. If I can't, is it okay if I just put a lot of romaine lettuce down instead?

i made it like a huge mouse cage, but they're welcomed to come and go anytime they please. i put bedding, food, water, tubes, a wheel (dunno if they use it), hideaways...everything! they love it! is that weird???

My sister was feeding my hamster acorns that she found on our driveway. I was wondering if this is ok to do.

i've checked other answers for other people that asked the same question. most people say to feed one cup of fresh veggies a day. but when they say CUP do they mean a cup like measurement or a cup like the little containers they have for their food. Please say the amount of veggies to give(about how many baby carrots?) also, how much fruit should you give? i've read that they are high in sugar so you should only feed them it about once or twice a week...is that true?

ok so im getting a panda bear hamster from petsmart in a week but i have some cage options.

1. crittertrail z 32 bucks i like it alot it has a llok out and an excersize ball /wheel and some tubing but i know it won last very long.

2. bin cage i might make one its just i hear they are kinda hard to clean and i dunno if i have a big enough tub

3. ok this is the cage im REALLY considering its only 25 bucks its a wire cage and it has 2 stories that cacn be climbed up to by slanted ladders. i like it alot i think it comes with a wheel but i cant remember it comes with a private little house and it looks big enough the only bad thing is its wire and i cant get tubing through unless i cut the wire

any help with this decision is appreciated thx!

My mouse has been suffering from an eye infection and it appears that he is at his last night and is suffering. He is currently bleeding and looks to be in pain. I would like to put him down so he doesnt suffer. How should I go about doing this?

is it unheathy for your hamsters back to be in a ball a few timess a week? i kno you should never put a guinea pig in one b/c of their back structure and its not as bendable as smaller rodents..

but is it damaging for my hamsters back if i put him in it say everyother day?

he has a wheel in his cage but i liek for him to go beyond that and he looks liek he always wants to get out.. i hold him a lot but i liek for him to explore the grounds.. not loose or i will never find him.. so is a ball good for say 20 min every other day?

My mother hates my C&C cage and says that it's way to big and that they need to be put into pet store cages. I've tried explaining that a 2X4 c&c is the perfect size for my two male pigs but she totally disagrees. So I was wondering if anyone knows about plastic kiddie pools being good for housing guinea pigs. I heard about that somewhere and maybe I can convince her to use that instead. If I can't does anyone have any good reccomendations for an approriate sized pet store cage for 2 male piggies. Thank you in advance.

people who care! Ok here is the problem. I love pet rats-I used to have alot. But then my dad fed most of them to the stupid snake and then made me get rid of the rest because he said theyt stunk! I cleaned there cage twice a week- what else do you want! So know I hate his stupid snake. The other day he bought a fancy rat to feed to the snake and I just couldn't take it! He bought 2-the rest he just put in the cage to faten up for next week and I just had to save it. So he had a box for them to stay in that is just 2 inchees below the wire top- eisaly a rat coukld climb up and chew his way out- so I cut a small hole on top that looked like it had been chewed- then I snipped of a little peice of the rats fur to put in the sharp edges to make it look like he squeezed his way out. Pretty smart, right? But know I have to hide hime, so I have a top closet that is 4 feet long and 2 feet high, and I covered it with towels, put a small open cage in there with shavings and a food bowl, taped a

Oh my god! Can somebody tell me what to do? a few weeks ago my hamster has gotten a swelling/lump (i dont know which was it). i asked many ppl n they told me it might be a benign tumour as it doesnt grow. the lump/swelling actually felt like it can be popped..and it does not grow any bigger. so i think its not tumour? but 2day, i found out that the lump is 80% gone! i thought it might be a swelling after all. BUT i found out a BIG HOLE on the lump! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!? what am i suppose to do with it? my hamster is still as active as ever and i m still wondering if he actually has any sense of pain. OMG!! This is freaky..any1 can help? other than going 2 da vet cuz i'm financially unstable now..thanx!

Is this possible? I don't know for sure that we have fleas in the house, but I have a cat as well. I am considering putting him on flea treatments but am concerned that if the fleas stop bothering the cat, they'll congregate on the rabbit. And if there's nothing I can do to deflea the rabbit, then maybe I ought not do anything. ??

hi i just got a female dwarf hamster and im thinking of getting several other hamsters in the same cage.

im thinking of about getting 4 hammies, but here are some choices i thought up:

1. i can breed her, keep her and the females, and give away the males to the pet store.

2. i can go to the swap meet (a really cheap trade market in the city) and buy several baby hamsters for a cheap price. the hamsters are in very dirty cages and have pee on their fur though.

my mother is very stingy on money, and at the nearest petstore they're 13 dollars each. at the swap meet they are 3 dollars. is it possible that i can keep them as they get clean? are diseases going to spread? are they going to live long?

im very experienced in dwarf hamsters, but i kept them one at a time. i tried a pair together, but they wouldnt stop fighting no matter how many attempts i tried helping. is keeping 4 hamsters going to work out?

i have a large bin cage by the way.

We recently bought 2 guinea pigs from a pet shop.We were told they were 6 weeks old and that they couldnt tell the sex.We had a look on the internet and sexed them ourselves, ones a girl and ones a boy.I definitley dont want to breed,I want them to have company though. So we have bought an extra hutch, they do still get time together but supervised(lol) and then when its the right time I think we will have the male neutered and then put them back together,is this the right thing to do and when.?

I have done a lot of research on having rats as pets and have personal experience handling them (I work part time at Petco), but I am trying to convince my husband to get two. We currently have a 2 year old hamster and he loves him. However, like most people, he doesn't like rats' tails. I've told him everything I could think of, but I was thinking by asking this question, perhaps you too can give him some reasons to have (or not have) rats - basically from your personal experience?
