i've checked other answers for other people that asked the same question. most people say to feed one cup of fresh veggies a day. but when they say CUP do they mean a cup like measurement or a cup like the little containers they have for their food. Please say the amount of veggies to give(about how many baby carrots?) also, how much fruit should you give? i've read that they are high in sugar so you should only feed them it about once or twice a week...is that true?

Guinea pigs should get 1 cup twice a day, this is the measurement cup. The cup you use to measure out flour and sugar when making a cake.

If you are feeding baby carrots then each guinea pig should get 1 a day. Fruit has a high water and sugar content and therefore should only be fed, like you said, once or twice a week. The following site has a thread which includes nutritional charts, these charts have different vegetables and fruits which have been colour coded to represent how often you can feed that particular thing:

Cucumber

Carrots: Buy carrots with leaves still attached, they like those.

Celery: Leafy celery is good

Peppers: Any pepper is good. Cut out seads.

Parsley: Great source of vitamin C

Cauliflower leaves: Only leaves. They like those best.

Broccoli: All broccoli is good, not just leaves and stems as commonly believed.

Grapes: This is an occasional choice. Maximum is one each a day

Romain Lettuce

A cup full of all this is a good choice. There are other vegetables and fruits you can give them as well, but these are the vegetables I give them everyday

I wouldnt feed them too much tomato, it can be toxic to a lot of animals. Also, in practise it is better to rotate the fruits and veggies so they get different nutrients in their diet....and they can have a good handful a day. As long as you avoid citrus fruits, onions and iceberg lettuce, you can feed most veggies. For example: Monday: romaine or rocket lettuce, small piece of apple, carrot tuesday: celery, lollo rosso, small piece of pear, broccoli wednesday: spinach, cucumber, courgette Just vary what you give them. Also, 75% of your piggies diet should be hay, high quality and non dusty, which should always be available to them. I know people who feed hardly any pellets with lots of hay and veggies, its much healthier for the teeth and body

small palm full of grapes or baby carrots, one leaf of cabbage or romain lettuce the size of your hand, a couple apple slices. and if they don't eat all of that then give them less next time.
