well, go to the vet and ask them to put it down. If you want to have a burial go ahead.

This can't be an easy decision for you, but you're thinking about your animal before your own wants and that's what makes you a GOOD PET OWNER.
First of all, take your mouse to the vet, there may be something still that can be done. The red is mucous, which is secreted by mice and rats when they're stressed or sick. The vet can give you some antibiotics to clear that eye up.
Its not as expensive as you may think! Shop around! The first vet quoted me $75, but the one we went with was only $25!
If you absolutely want your mouse put down, seek the vet's help FIRST. If you can't get to one or you can tell he's really in pain, there's another method... not pleasant, but its available. http://www.ratfanclub.org/euth.html

i would not advise taking it to a Vet: they might supply very ill canine or cats an IV injection that knocks them out in a fragment of a 2d, yet a mouse is in simple terms too small for that. An IP or IM injection could be painful and sluggish, and additionally you do not opt for that on your buddy. actual, puting the mouse in a plastic bucket with a block of dry ice is totally humane. then you could cover the bucket with something that's not air-tight, like a chunk of cardboard. He might in simple terms pass to sleep using fact the dry ice stuffed the bucket with carbon dioxide. After an hour or 2 (to make useful) you are able to eliminate him. The quite much less high priced selection that's not incredibly so rapid, yet the two painless is to place him in a field interior the freezer in a single day. dying by making use of freezing is rarely painful.

I am so sorry. I don't know what would be an easy way and am afraid to tell you to do anything. I thing aspirin may relieve some pain, and use a very small amount and a syringe without the needle to get it into his mouth. I would tall you take him to the vet but that seems like a lot to do. Maybe call one in the morning and they can tell you of some common thing that might cause him to go to sleep and not wake up, I really don't know. Maybe a site on mice would help you. Good luck. So sorry.

Call the vet and ask them about euthanasia, including the price. It really is the best way to do it. If you try it yourself, and you mess up, you'll cause your mouse pain, and you don't want that. You can't just put it in the freezer- that takes a long time to kill them, and is a very agonizing death. I'm sure youe mouse is greatful that you're so concerned about it, and trying your best to alleviate its suffering.

If you were the mouse, you'd probably want to be put down too. It's a part of life. Going the vet would probably be the best way to go about this. Sorry to hear that.

Why don't you just get him antibiotics? When you take on a living creature, it's your responsibility to care for him. I know this can be a pain for some people, but it is worth it:) The treatment will also make him feel better. The only humane way to put him down is to go to the vet anyway, and that woudl cost more than the antibiotics would.

You can take him to the vet. Be sure that you ask how they will preform the euthanasia. Some vets will inject the med into the stomach cavity, which is very painful. A knowledgeable vet will usually overdose on anesthesia(they just go to sleep and stop breathing.

Cervical dislocation. This is an acceptable form of euthanasia recognized by many research governing bodies.
Simply place the animal on an even surface such as a table. Hold the base of the tail with your right thumb and pointer fingers and place your left thumb and pointer fingers at the base of the neck near the shoulder blades.
Press firmly down with your left fingers to hold the animal down on the table surface while simultaneously lifting up on the tail. You will hear the vertebrae dislocate.
Place a towel over the animal if this procedure will bother you which I can imagine it might since it is your pet.

If you take him to your nearest vet, they will be able to put him down. I would recommend that you go to a rodent vet, since, they don't put animals down with a shot. They put small animals down, by, putting them in a box, and, letting some air go into it, and, then, they slowely go.... This really is the best way to go. Though, it will be sad to let your little one go, It's really best. I hope that this answers your question! Thanks, and, good luck,
