is it unheathy for your hamsters back to be in a ball a few timess a week? i kno you should never put a guinea pig in one b/c of their back structure and its not as bendable as smaller rodents..

but is it damaging for my hamsters back if i put him in it say everyother day?

he has a wheel in his cage but i liek for him to go beyond that and he looks liek he always wants to get out.. i hold him a lot but i liek for him to explore the grounds.. not loose or i will never find him.. so is a ball good for say 20 min every other day?

As long as you get the correct size for your hamster, they are GREAT.

A hamster's spine is very flexible and they have no problem in the balls.

Go for it!

The majority of hamsters adore their exercise balls. The more it is used the better because exercise is vital for a hamsters health and wellbeing. You can use it every night, infact that would be even better for him.

My hamster loves his exercise ball and whenever he is awake he is put straight in it, or rather he runs into it because he knows what it is. I let him run for about 20 mins too, but he can get real grumpy when I take him out so sometimes he has to go back in it till he has tired himself out. He has always been the same. Make sure the ball is big enough for your hamster so he is not arching his back when running in it. If you have a syrian hamster then change its wheel and ball for a rats wheel and ball.

The ball is just fine for your hamster.. It is large enough not to cause a back problem.. The hamster is very curious and loves the ball.. you should always be with your hamster when he is in the ball just incase he goes towards the stairs,, wouldnt want him to go down stairs.. very traumatic Im sure.. or sometimes the tops get loose and might pop off.. or if he stops for a long period and starts to chew on the ball.. so let him roll around to his hearts content.. just keep an eye on him..

as far as i know, it won't hurt your furry little friend at all. i used to put mine in her ball for up to an hour a couple of times a day. she loved being in her ball and would follow me all over the house as i did my cleaning, cooking, etc. she lived to the ripe old age of 2 yr 9 months, so i think she did pretty good. they need exercise just like people do, and i always had to take her wheel out at night since it squeeked. they are nocturnal, and she would run on her wheel all night long if i left it in there.

Hamsters love to have the freedom and exercise that a ball gives to them. It is amusing to watch also! No, it will not harm them to have them in it. A few times a week will give them the exercise they need. He will stop when he is tired or bored with it. Good luck & have fun watching him run!

They tend to enjoy it very much... but, as already stated.. keep an eye on it... My first hamster loved his ball.. but if you stopped paying attention he'd knock it up against a chair leg until the door came off.. I never had a problem finding him.. generally he'd be in my shoes... (not sure why..) and our animals all got along fine with each other.. but you may not be so lucky.. they get lost fairly easily..

actually that is a great amount of time to put him in. some people leave their hamsters in those balls unattended for HOURS and HOURS which is just crazy, really. 20 minutes every other day is great, you could probably do it every day if you have time to sit there and watch him. just never leave him alone. also never leave him in there for more than 20 minutes. 30 minutes TOPS. ♥ good luck!

Your hamster can go in its ball as much as you want it to. Theyll be happy, youll be happy. Keep in mind tho that if your hamster gets too big for its ball you should invest in a new one. Also keep down-ward sloped stairways blocked off.

Those are GREAT for exercising your hamster! You can leave them in one of those exercise balls for longer than 20 minutes. They love them too.
