All they eat is their romaine lettuce, completely ignore all vegetables. I put them in a small bin that they can access. First, I tried putting them directly in front of them when I put them back in their cage after floor time. Next, I tried separating the vegetables into different little dishes just in case they wouldn't eat them because they were mixed in with other veggies they dislike. No go. Is there a trick I can use to make them eat them? All they eat is the romaine lettuce, hay, and pellets. If I can't, is it okay if I just put a lot of romaine lettuce down instead?

To Shayne S, well, I did that. I got all kinds of vegetables, cut them up, and put them in dishes, separately, to see if they only liked certain veggies. But apparently, since they left them to rot over night, they didn't like them.

ok first of all dont leave the veggies in over night. second if u are worried about the vit c intake try this supplement that my vet told me to use. its oxbow heres the link http://www.oxbowhay.com/Shop/showProduct.sp?PRODUCT_NO=53
they probably sell them at a small animal vet near you or ask your vet about them. romain lettuce doesnt have verry much vit c in it. try dandelion greens (avalible at the supermarket or ur back yard) and red pepper. those are 2 foods that are high in vit c. good luck.

You might need to keep offering them certain veggies several times before they decide to try them. Our guinea pig is *very* suspicious of any unfamiliar food & I had to just keep trying before he finally started eating bell peppers or anything else he hadn't been used to.
Maybe you could skip the romaine for 1 or 2 feedings & see if that makes them more interested in the other veggies. Also, you could offer things like dandelion, cilantro or green beans, all of which our piglet finds irresistable.
Not sure if this would work for piggies, but I've convinced our pet rats to try new food by eating some of it *directly* in front of them, so they can watch & smell what I'm doing. Works great on rats.

well you could try putting in the other veggies without the lettuce. you may be giving them too much and they just fill up on one thing. also, keep experimenting with different veggies, maybe they will like those more. ♥ best of luck!

Put some romaine lettuce in a bowl then put the veggies in a blender, after you blend the veggies then pour it on the lettuce then chop little Pisces of corn, tomato, and broccoli. To give it a little bit of flavor, put a tiny bit of blue cheese dressing. Next mix it ,and let them eat it.

OK this is normal.Your piggie will only eat romaine lettuce. My tip is to buy as much selection of fruits and veggies as you can buy and let him choose the ones he likes. My piggie will only eat hay, baby carrots, banana peals, romaine lettuce and apple peals.

I know how you feel, you buy like a whole bunch of veggies for them to try, yet they don't like any of it! I don't think theres anyway you could force them to eat it... they are VERY stubborn...
