Even though one will let me pet her she will try to run away and resists me as much as possible. The other one is hard to pick up and will not let me do anything. Other details include that they are 9 weeks old ( i've had them for over a week) and have ruby eyes.

I know its probably a stupid question but if it is possible then I want it done. My boys are two of the most friendliest rats but even just playing with them and I get all scratched up and they don't mean to. Plus batheing them because a even harder task and being boys they need their baths.

Hi all, I'm sure this question gets asked a lot but I can't help it. My pet mouse died and I'm really torn up about it.
(Any of you smart***** with an answer like "it was just a mouse get over it" can just go to a different question now).
Any suggestions for moving on? We had him almost a year (we don't know how old he was before that). I know it's not long but I feel so guilty...he had plenty of food and water and such but yeah. I can't help it.
Should I get a new one? Or will it just remind me too much of him and hurt too much?
I just don't know what to do, I'm so sad :(
Any comments would be great. Thanks :)

I changed the cages yesterday, and today they smell like pee. I thought that they might be peeing on eachother, but I have a rat in a cage alone, and she smells like pee too. I washed out the tanks and changed the houses and cleaned the bowls, so it not those things. Is it the bedding?

I reeeeaaallllly want a pet rat. There's only one at the petstore and she is a female all white rat with a black head. She is just adorable and I've been doing some research on rats for a while now. I've convince my mom over, but my dad still doesn't like the idea of having a pet rat in the house. UGH! I already have a dog, two cats, and two gerbils. But the gerbil's are actually my sisters so that doesn't matter much, right? My cats really don't mind the gerbies, so I'm assuming they'll leave the rat alone. I already know everything to buy if I do end up buying her, but how can I convince my dad!?!? Please give me all the information you know and and how to convince him. Thanks a bunch this really helps!

I've just adopted a beautiful 1-month-old gerbil; he was living with his siblings until a few hours ago, and he's now going home with me.
I'm a biologist and a pet lover, and I've already kept guinea pigs, rats, and hamsters (as well as other creatures) in the past, so I can manage the basics. However, I'd appreciate any gerbil-specific tips you may have.
Thanks in advance :-)

or at least QUIET? lol the ones ive had either squeak or just 'rumble' a lot. the rumbling is literally the most annoying noise in the ENTIRE world lol. the wheel i have now i think is even called the 'silent' wheel or something.. i think it even has the nerve to have the word SILENT in the name! anyone ever find a wheel that actually lives up to this name?! my gerbils kinda fat too :) so if your teeny tiny mouse has a silent wheel.. dont even bother lol

I noticed as I was cleaning its cage. She's not moving, but when I touch her she shakes a little. I can pick her up and she will open her eyes a little but not really respond. Any ideas what's wrong with her / how to if possible cure her?

Can 2 piggies live outside in a wooden hutch with solid roof, sides, and a plastic floor(inside)? There would be enough hay to burrow in and possibly blankets? Please answer!

My landlord refuses to patch the hole where they are coming in from. Sometimes I go to 3-4 days before I can catch and release it. (note- I will not kill anything or call anyone that will). I also have a cat, rabbit and bird. The opossum (not a baby, not full grown) does not bother the other animals, and only comes out at night, after we're all in bed. It even snuck up on the bed and smelled the cat, and the cat didnt even know it. I don't know what to do. Can I refuse to pay rent? Call some kind of Health Dept on my landlord? I even feel bad about that because he really helped me out by letting me live here. I even contemplated just keeping it, but after reseraching, I dont' think I Can supply the high demand diet it needs, even thought it will just die on the streets anyway. I also read that they are less of a health risk (on the official possum society page) then cats and dogs. They are also less susceptible to rabies then me and you. So I don't know what to do.
