Well, you say you have been doing lots of research, but I am wondering how extensive this can have been, considering that you have placed your question in the "rodents" category, when ferrets are mustelids, and are actually more like a cat or dog in their needs and temperament than any rodent? And also that you are asking HERE how to tame them, rather than in a place where you actually know there are people experienced and able to help with ferret questions?
I'm saying this to point you in better directions, you must understand, not to put you off ferret ownership, or to criticise you. I just want to help you understand what a huge amount of information there is out there about these wonderful pets, and also such a huge number of people who are experienced and willing to help.
Rather than trying to give an in-depth description of how to nip-train, how to litter-train, train them to come when called, etc., I would strongly advise you to buy Kim Schilling's book, "Ferrets for Dummies", and also to join sites such as:
http://www.ferretbbs.com/forums/index.php
http://www.ferretvillage.org/
There are so many experienced people on these sites, who are ready to give help and advice, and a discussion forum is so much more useful, as each answer to a question, when you are starting out, usually makes you think of about half a dozen more to ask!
They can also help you find better places to find your new ferret or ferrets, and each time a new problem occurs, they will be there, once again, to help and advise!
I hope you can find all the info you need, just don't except to find it on Yahoo Answers. And wish you all the best with the wonderful world of ferret ownership!

Having worked on a ferret farm for many years, I will give the best tip I know of when handling baby ferrets. MAKE SURE THEY ARE WELL FED!!! I am serious, a hungry baby ferret WILL bite and dont think for one minute that they cant bite hard...they can!! Because they are weaned so young when they go for pet retail sale, they need to be fed constantly. I was responsible for playing with the weanlings for awhile and I learned in a hurry not do it until they were fed! Good luck!
