As long as you make sure to wash your hands carefully brfore handling your hamster it should be fine.
The only time you cant handle a hamster is if you have a cold or flu, you can actually pass the cold virus on to them! strange little fact, but true!

You should not handle your hamster while sick. Rodents are able to pick up the germs from flus and colds, getting sick themselves. Try to wash your hands thoroughly before going to the animal, if you have to, and avoid breathing/coughing/sneezing on it. If your hamster does get sick, you'll want to mix half unflavored Pedialite into its water (they suffer dehydration when sick). But don't worry about having to clean up "hamster barf" since rodents can't vomit (this prevents them from losing essential nutrients when ill, but it's also what makes rat/mouse poison so effective).
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Absolutely not, hamsters can catch colds and flu very easily.
They do not have a really strong immune system, so one bout of stomach upset or diarrhea can kill them.
Show your hammie how much you care for them by leaving them alone until you are completely recovered.
Hope you feel better soon.

not very many things are communicable between pets and their owners. this is the information I was able to find.
Human Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus Infection Associated with Rodents
Epidemiology of Machupo Virus Infection
HOOKWORMS
Tapeworms cannot be directly transmitted from dogs to humans but small children could accidentally ingest flea larvae or pupae on the floor containing an immature tapeworm and get a tapeworm infection.

I wouldn't you might make it sick. They get sick and die easily. I would make sure I'd use hand sanitizer before and after I picked him up. But If I recall having the stomach flu didn't make me want to do anything but lay around and sleep.
