I just purchased a tortoise frrom the pet store, and I am not too happy. First, the guy told me it was a galapagos tortoise, only to find out that he is a sulcatta. Second, all he has been feeding him is romaine lettuce, because it has more nutrients than reg lettuce. I need to know exactly what to feed him. He is a little, little guy. Not even the size of my palm. Any points or tips and food wise people for tortoise's please feel free to answer. If you could also let me know where to purchase the things i need, ie. grocery store or pet store, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much in advance.

Ok, so my friend told me that suave shampoo kills fleas on your pet. I have an outdoor cat that lives in my barn, and I would love to bring it inside, but I'm worried about a flea infestation. Are there any other remedies besides purchasing expensive stuff? I'm willing to buy flea medication and/or shampoo, but I don't want to waste the money if I already have something that will work. thanx

I have a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. I have had her for about 4 years and she was always naturally calm, yet got excited when food came or you wanted tp pet her, etc (a normal rabbit). Now, she is kind of more lazy, or "tired" acting. For example, if she is facing away from me, and I touch her behind, then she doesn't react (normally she would jump up a bit and make this grunting noise)... and I don't think that it's just because she got used to us.... she is just wayy less movable.

Also, her two front paws look like their dislocated (they're not but it looks like it.... like she can bend them back all the way). We aren't sure if this is because of her cage, because it's plastic on the bottom and it could be that she slips their and therefore over time her muscles adjusted to that. We let her run on the grass though a couple of times a week now.

She also has a bump on her side. Like a cyst or something... I don't know what it is.

Do you know what might be wrong with her?

I have a 5 month old ferret and she has been itching herself alot so I got her some flea spray and she is still itching. So me and my friends stopped by petco just to check out tha animals and I ended up asking one of tha guys that work there why she was itching so bad even after i put tha flee spray on her. He said it might be dry skin and to wash her but I wash her once a week and I don't want tha shampoo and "conditioner" will bother her skin if I wash her 2 times a week. What else might cause her to itch like that and what can I do about it?

When we started with Rabbits, we were told by some experience Rabbit owners that it was best to have your rabbits in a cage in a building and not outside. In most books, the rabbits are housed outside, which is better for a rabbit, to be enclosed in the dark, or outside with fresh air and light. I personally think they should be outside and given light and fresh air, but I was told they could get sniffles if they were outside. I was also told the sunlight would bleach a black rabbits fur. What do you think?

Does anyone know where i can find the rules and regulations and the like of owning a fox in Texas? (If not, Minnesota?) I've been looking into it and my google searches aren't bringing anything useful up. Anything associated would be appreciated as well, like where to get them or prices.

(I am not looking to be scolded by people who think this is horrible. If you don't like this idea, please move on)

My neighbours that live across the street have 2 dogs. Every Friday & Sat. night they go out & leave the dogs in their backyard & they bark NON-STOP for hours on end. And I'm not exaggerating when I say NON-STOP. For example: this weekend they barked Friday, Sat. & tonight (I'm at home with my baby so that's how I know). This has been going on since the beginning of the summer. Last night we had a huge rain storm & lighting & it rained ALL night & they were outside until atleast midnight cause I went to bed then & they still weren't home. I don't know if they have dog houses or what but they were out in the pouring rain & winds. How can people treat their animals this way? I don't want to confront them directly but I definitely feel that they need to be reported. Am I justified in doing this & how do I go about's doing this? THANKS!!!

I am a pet owner in Ohio. I have two wonderful dogs and two cats. My dogs have had the police called on them before for barking because when they are outside in our fenced in back yard, they bark at our neighbors and anyone who walks down the street with another dog in tow. I know who is calling the police. Our new neighbors are, who also have a dog who barks. I will say that I have been more aware of when my dogs are barking, and make them stop. THey are good dogs. THey listen. I do want them to bark occasionally though. You never know when you need a Gard Dog around, and my neighbor has two teenage boys with a lot of friends around at all hours of the day, hanging out in their driveway. Now to get to the cats... My neighbor has told me several times that my cat sits on her car. I do keep my cats in but occasionally they sneak out. My point is what can she do? I don't have the ONLY cats on the street that's outside. What are the laws in Ohio?? I just want this all to end

I have two guinea pigs that are 3 months old. They love carrots and will eat green pepper once in a while. They used to eat red pepper but won't any longer. They love fruits too but from what I read they need veggies more..
Any suggestions to get them to eat some besides carrots? They ignored the spinach and parsley...
