Would KiKi want you to suffer so?

Remember that our pet's only "job" is to make us happy. They hate when we're sad, for any reason. Think of feeling better, and trying to be happy as honoring her life and memory.

This may sound heartless, but a baby chipmunk, or any other pet, will keep you too busy to be sad. And just try being sad around a puppy. I dare you! It's impossible, their little souls are the absolute cure for sadness.

Consider fostering. There are pets in need, and you could use the distraction.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. We have several companion animals & have lost many others, it hurts no matter how old they are. The worst thing about loving animals is that their lives are so short compared to ours, even though they can fit a tremendous amount of living in so brief a time.
Please take care of yourself during this difficult time. Cherish the time & memories you & KiKi have shared & remember that the love is there always.
Since you are obviously a caring person, please consider adopting or fostering someone else when the time seems right. Of course we can never replace those we've lost & we shouldn't try, but you can care for another little one as a new experience & also as a tribute to KiKi.

I've had quite a few pets die too, mostly from people speeding and hitting them. The best thing you can do is move on. Remember the good times, keep pictures/videos, and if you want, maybe get a new pet. Not to replace KiKi, though, because nothing can replace one of your beat friends. Maybe get something different, like a dog, cat or hamster. Never forget the all of the memories and what made KiKi so special.

Animals are such loving, carefree spirits. The enjoyment they get from simple things – the wind in their face, the sun on their backs, a ball or stick or some yarn, your hugs and kisses – is so inspiring. In turn, we benefit from these daily reminders of how precious life is and just how amazing it can be when you let go of tedious stressors and embrace the little things the day has to offer. Our pets seem to know so much more about living life to the fullest than we do. And unfortunately, when they pass away, it’s easy to let that gift go with them. But that is no way to pay tribute to the life they led.

I recently had a cat who was very sick and went through many surguries, and I was there for every one. I even nursed him back to health when he couldn't even walk from too much drugs in surgury. Then he repayed me, and watched over me when i was sick. So needless to say, it as very hard when he passed away. The only way I got through it, was to get the courage to go to where he was barried, and say I love him one last time, and to keep his colar with me. But then dont force it, but slowely move on... they are always looking over you

It is part of the grieving process. There isn't much you can do but let everything out and wait until you feel better.

You'll see her again some day.
Good luck.
