I want to build a Cedar house for my rat, I know that certain types of wood are not good for them, such as pine shavings but I believe this to be because of dust particles. Does anyone know if Cedar would be OK for the house?

Does it bother anyone else about how many questions are asked regarding the health of a pet and it always ends with "I can't afford to take him to the vet..." 95% of the time, the pet needs veterinary attention!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Don't have pets if you can't afford to PROPERLY care for them!!!!!

We've just recently purchased a 10 month old male ferret. He is descented and neutered. I've owned a ferret before, and learned much just with her. The difference is though, that she was purchased from a ferret rescue at 4 years old and she definitely had a different attitude. I'm just getting used to all the noises a ferret actually makes. Is there a difference in raising a male ferret than a female ferret? He also has a thing for toes, and I'm thinking the woman that had him before played with him with her feet, but when he bites toes, he bites hard! I don't know how to get him out of this habit.. any suggestions? Also, he doesn't use his litter box in his cage at all, he squirms and bangs on his cage until we let him out of his cage, where he runs to our bathroom, moves our toilet brush and poops right where it was! I don't know why he does this. I've tried taking everything out of his cage BUT his litter box, and he still doesn't understand this. Any suggestions for that too?

A small bird has stayed in my hard, and won't leave... it seems wounded and won't fly. I temporarily housed it inside a cage because there are cats nearby (lots of them) the nest where the baby is from is empty, so apparently the mother is gone... what do I feed it? After I get the usual stupid answers, I would like some serious responses. I know it's best to let the bird back into the wild, but the thing is hurt, and there are cats all over the area (I'm surrounded by lots of neighbors)

Helpful suggestions please

I live in the country and i've lived in the country my whole life. i've lived with people talking about how their friends went cow tipping and whenever the subject comes up everyone laughs. it's starting to seem like cow tipping is one of the most common myths! plus, cows don't usually sleep standing up. Has anyone PERSONALLY had a successful cowtipping adventure?

Our rot/lab mix has got us VERY upset and concerned. She has always, is, a great dog. She has always been very gentle and loving to our kids and all of the other dogs and whenever allowed under 100% supervision the other pets. Her best friend has always been our rabbit. Of course we NEVER left the two unsupervised. She receives routine grooming. Only the best of food. Daily training, attention, brushing and love. We have always given her a daily vitamin. She is completly caught up on immunizations and she gets regular vet checks. She has a 100% clean bill of health from vet. Something has changed with her though. She is getting very aggressive. She broke out of my teenage sons hands today, off of her leash and killed our baby duck. The babies were nowhere near her. She ran a half an acre to get to them. She is also becoming VERY aggresive with the other dogs. We have 8 dogs total. They all receive the same attention and so on. She was our first pup though.
