The two most important things are to take care of it's digestion and teeth, as these are the two most common failings of rabbits. The right diet is absolutely essential to them.

The 'right' diet for rabbits is 75% hay, and the rest proper rabbit pellets. Don't use just rabbits mix as they can pick and choose what parts of it they eat and thus miss out on nutrients. You can feed pellets and mix to keep their diet both interesting and balanced

Veg only needs to be fed about every other day - too much or the wrong sort can give them diarrhoea. Here's a list of suitable rabbit veg:

Rabbits teeth grow constantly and need to be worn down by giving them the correct diet to gnaw on - gnawing on wood also helps.

Rabbits have fast metabolisms, so if they don't eat or pass any poos for more than a day, you've got trouble. Rabbits pass mostly round pellets that dry out quickly, but also some squishy poos that they eat to recycle and get all the nutrients out. It is also unusal for rabbits to have reddish urine - it's just a pigment, not blood.

The other thing to watch out for in rabbits - especially outdoor ones - is fly strike. Flies are attracted to the poos that rabbits constantly pass, and if they lay their eggs on the bunny the flies hatch into maggots that can eat a rabbit alive in hours. To avoid this, keep the cage free of poos and use a lotion called Rearguard on the rabbit when it's warm.

Rabbits are social animals and need the company of at least one other bunny to stay happy. Buy them as big a cage as you can afford and give them lots of rabbit toys!

Right, think that's all the essential basics about rabbits!

Keep they're meals interesting and always give them something new every night. Supplement their food eg calcium give a little bit of milk in a bowl or flaxseed gives them a healthy coat. My rabbit prefers to eat food i make for her rather than the food u buy at the pet shop and u can really see the results! Always provide fresh clean water and a mineral lick at all times and let them run outside for at least 3 hours a day. Keep the hutch clean and germ free and Give them all the TLC u can! Also bunnies like to be groomed, so i always brush her for about ten minutes before i let her run around. Do this and ur bun will live a happy exciting and wonderful life!
