Because the people in the cars haven't been eating the carrots and hence, cannot see the poor innocent rabbits.

Because carrots don't make you immune to getting squished! Seeing a car speeding towards you in the dark is one thing, understanding what's about to happen with your little rabbit brain is another.

Actually rabbits should not eat carrots, they are not as healthy as other veggies and full of sugar. Wild rabbits do not eat carrots, they eat grasses, etc.

first off its a myth, and well possibly they didn't know that was a myth and the little rabbit was stealing some from a farmers garden, and then the farmer came out with a gun, that little bunny ran like hell, right into the rode and got killed anyway!

That is uncalled for, and I think the traffic is far more to blame than the rabbits! I brake when there is an animal trying to cross the road.
Not our falt they are diernal, and we run pavement between thier burrows and the places they like to find food.
