Other - Pets - March 2007

I was wondering what horses were bred for these places. I need to 'create' a breed of horse based on existing horses and ponies that can survive (with some shelter) a long and very cold winter. It would have to be sturdy, have a good endurance and be strong.
So what breeds come close or match to those guidelines?

I have tears in my eyes knowing that a major company that does million of dollars of pet food sales all over the world -- does not have the decency to have food inspectors to check their products. The same goes to governments and their collecting millions of dollars of taxes etc. Yes, I do have "a" pet, and I care for him more than I care for the "profits" these companies make and the untested products they market. My question and concern is what is next? What major "government or business" neglect/failure do we have to expect?

My cat was deathly ill a few weeks ago and was hopsitalized for about a week after eating a can of wet food. I have the vet bills/ reciepts... and 3 out of the 4 unopened cans.

Yes, it happened to me, I was walking home from town today with my little girl, and a bird pooed on my head! I think I once heard that if a bird pooed on your head that it was good luck.......I think......I cant remember! Anyone know if this is true or what it means, if anything at all!?!

I bought a pony from an auction who is terrified of people. He has obviously been well trained and loved once, but is absolutely terrified,especially of men. I've made progres winning his trust, but he is especially frightened when I approach his rear end - obviously so. I think he was sexually abused. Anyone ever encounter such a situation and does anyone know how this type of abuse affects animals emotionally? My heart bleeds for this sweet pony. Please, no sick responses - I am serious, not one of those sick perverts that get kicks outof bestiality. This pony needs help!

Hiya im getting a hamster in no less then a week .
I wanted to ask you
Could you
Give me lil cute Hamster names for female and male as many as you can think of
What do they usually play with
What food do they like most
When would they start to breed
How long can it live?
How often should i clean the cage?
How often shall i change the food even if its still full?
Most of all i have a friend and she lend my her hamster for a day i let it on my carpte to run around then when i was putting it back in the cage the lil Tinky was bleading did i just pul it off or is that period?(So embarased to ask you this question)

I was personally more that a little shocked to find out that such supposedly premium and healthier brands like Nutro, Iams and Eukanuba apparently are serving the same content as several bargain and generic store brands. I was especially shocked to see Science Diet listed, as it has been recommended on more that one occassion by vets for my then-ailing pets.

For years I served Nutro Max to my late dog who had serious skin allergies - under the misconception that it was somehow healthier (it was, to the extent that it helped his skin)

I'm not knocking the nutritional content of "menufoods" per se, especially given that investigators are now speculating that the gluten content was contaminated with rat poison. I am not impressed however that such supposed premium brands are in essence the same food as the genric store brands.

Personally, now that I can afford it I feed my pets nothing but organic pet foods.
