I have tears in my eyes knowing that a major company that does million of dollars of pet food sales all over the world -- does not have the decency to have food inspectors to check their products. The same goes to governments and their collecting millions of dollars of taxes etc. Yes, I do have "a" pet, and I care for him more than I care for the "profits" these companies make and the untested products they market. My question and concern is what is next? What major "government or business" neglect/failure do we have to expect?

This is just a huge one that affects a whole lot of people, killing people's pets. Closer to everyone's heart. EVERY SINGLE DAY there is some product, food or otherwise that is recalled because it is hurting someone, or killing people, or starting fires or what have you.
No one is responsible anymore for their products.. Everything nearly has been recalled. Peanut butter recently, lettuce, kids toys, tools, you name it. None of the manufactures out there seem to care much. They put out there product, and If it kills enough people then they'll recall it.

There should be better control about any type of food products that we are importing from outside the USA, especially a country like China where they have no strict guidelines and standards. There was the case of the fake baby formula that some greedy business people sold to infants and many of them died or became severely retarded. I wouldn't be surprised that greed came into play and some tainted gluten products was sold. Not terrorism, just plain human greed.

i feel the same. My cats were not harmed (so far no symtoms). But they ate the Special Kitty food for years. Why do these things keep happening to our food. The peanut butter recall also scared the crap out of me! Can we trust anyone to make our food?

Maybe you will label me paranoid, but this just shows you how easy it would be for someone to put poison into OUR food.

Maybe this was an experiment by terrorists to see just how many deaths such an action would cause in people. It may already be happening.

Yeah, I'm getting paranoid.
