So the dog and cat food incidents have been linked to food tainted with rat poison. If it is this easy to contaminate pet food that leads to animal deaths, how likely is it to have the same thing happen to our food supply in the U.S.? Are there safe guards in place to prevent this? Is that even possible? Are you ready to start growing all of your own food and only buy local produce?

My female hamster sounds like she's coughing, a lot. And differant colored stuff comes out from her bottom. Brownish reddish stuff came out from her vagina? And some whitish stuff too. But that was hard to figure where it came from near her bottom. oh and she mated a couple of weeks ago. but not that long. like 30 minutes on two differant days and they say a hamster should mate four hours for six days for the female to get pregnant. but shes nesting and gaining weight. is she probably sick because shes pregnant?

It is so mean! They make animals smoke ciggarettes why don't they test humans theirs more of us than animals! It's cruel cuz they test on them then they die and it doesn't prove anything in the end! Who agrees with me?!

I went to my friend's house and she'd gotten a new hamster. His name was Rascal. I sat there and played with Rascal the whole time and realized how much I liked hamsters. I told my Mom and she said she'd get me a hamster. I didn't get it yet, but I need some help. I have so many questions! Do I bathe it? Is it safe to comb or brush my new hamster's hair? What are the pros and cons of having a hamster? One other thing, what should I name her? Here are some names I was thinking about:

Rose
Paris
Rayna

Give me some suggestiong if possible. Please try to answer all of the questions that I asked with as much detail as possible. I really appreciate it! THANKS SO MUCH!

They are saying the recalled food contained rat poison! Can you believe this? I am heartsick that such a thing could happen in this day and age. What safety precautions, if any, were taken when this food was manufactured?
Vets around the country are studying cases from six months previous because they are suspicious that the food may have been contaminated months earlier.

Do you think IAMS should pay the bill for the sick pets who had ate their tainted food?Or at least some of it.
Cause it cost alot of money, and it isn't fair to the owners.

many animals are being put down because they have no home to go to. many dogs , cats and other animals are already filling up the organizations and rescues centers . the overpopulation of animals in the end is hurting the animals already being in the shelter for a long time then sadly they have to be put down cause nobody came in time to adopt them. so if u want a dog cat hamster rabbit or whatever go to your local spca or rescue to go fill an application and if approved choose your new friend. GO SAVE AN ANIMAL AND YOU RECEIVE A NEW FRIEND AND DONT FORGET TO SPAY AND NEUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(if u do end up adopting or just adopted please write back and make my day : ) and kuddos!)

MY Dog was lost or possibly taken home by someone visiting Panama City Beach, St. Patricks Day weekend. March 17,18,19. She was last seen Saturday nite St. Patricks Day.PLEASE if anyone knows someone that was in Florida last weekend and brought a cute little black dog home, she has long hair, black and tanned, a limp, her right rear leg was injured in December, she has or had a leather collar with spikes on it. PLEASE contact me. I feel like my child has been kidnapped--and my hands are tied. We rent a condo on the Beach and the upstairs condo is rented every week, obviously the gate wasn't closed by the new renters that weekend. Our neighborhood is a small community, we know all of our neighbors, and their animals, we kinda look out for one another, none of the locals has seen her. This is why I'm leaning towards a visitor taking her home. Thinking she was homeless, walking with a limp, I can understand. Her name Is CUJO. PLEASE contact me

There are some very friendly ducks at the children's park near our home (there's a small creek running through it). One of my children LOVES animals and attempts to pet them at times, these ducks are so friendly and used to people that it wouldn't surprise me if they'd let her. Are there any diseases that they'd carry that my children could get? I always make sure they wash their hands when we are done there but is there really anything to worry about?

I heard that the PETA has made a breaking investigation of cruelty and animal abuse by PetSmart. They've discovered "sickening conditions for small helpless animals." Also their investigation and reports from concerned customers at numerous other PetSmart stores have shown that PetSmart routinely sells sick and injured animals.

Anyone else heard about this?
If not, then more people should know. Spread the word!

Please dont act like I'm an idiot or anything; We recently adopted a ferret and in the course of trying out treats that he likes, we've found that Honey Nut Cheerios tickles his tastebuds (my ferret handbook says cereal is ok for them). However, I was wondering if it would also be alright for me to give my 9 month old kitten one or two pieces of the cereal when I give a piece to the ferret.
Does anyone know if this would make the kitten sick? Again, I would only give one or two single pieces at a time, and obviously not that often since they are considered "treats."
Thank you for any input you can give me!

Don't you think this is really crazy, that they found RAT POISINING in dog and cat food?...!!

The people who make the food brands that have that poisining in them should really check all of their food ingredients before they ship and sell them out!!!!!

I HATE THAT THAT HAS HAPPENED!!!

Please tell me if you agree with me.?!
