Do you think IAMS should pay the bill for the sick pets who had ate their tainted food?Or at least some of it.
Cause it cost alot of money, and it isn't fair to the owners.

Well its not Iams. Its Menu Foods. They need to pay for all of the dogs affected by the rat poison in the foods that have made so many dogs sick and have kidney failure.
And did you hear about the lady at Walmart? Well I guess walmart didnt remove the bad food from their shelves so a lady went in there to BUY all the bad food off the shelves and walmart kicked her out of the store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, i think IAMS should pay for the bill of the sick pets because with a lot of people all they had was their pet and because of IAMS they don't have them anymore. Some people might be completely and utterly upset about this, but they shouldn't have to pay the $800 or so that it took to help their cat/dog. It's hard enough to just lose something you love, and then have to pay for it as well when sometimes you just don't have the money. Plus they made people pay all that money for tainted food it just isn't right to do something like that.

yes they should, but will they? My sister in-laws dog ate some iams can food about a week ago, when she heard the news about the food, she ran him into a emergency vet to have him checked out. He wasn't sick but they gave him medication before he would get sick. I think they may make it a public law suit and divide up all winnings with people who had their pets treated. What i don't understand is how so many brands of pet food have his problem all of a sudden. How many other pets have died in the past. Lots of questions and little anwsers. This only my opinion. I hope everyone gets money for their vet bills and loss of their pets. You would only think that they would check for certain things in dog or cat food before releasing it.

Iams didn't manufacture the foods. Menu Foods did. They should be the ones to pay for the medical bills of all the people who lost their pets.

It's not IAMS fault really. The recall has led to at least three lawsuits against Menu Foods. The FDA is still unsure what exactly caused the contamination and no one is quite sure who to blame yet. They think it is from contaminated shipments of wheat gluten as of right now. If this is the case, the wheat gluten supplier to Menu Foods is to blame and should be sued.

Well, the factory in Canada has already agreed to pay. IAMS was not the only brand affected - it was a victim of the factory. However, IAMS might still be liable - we'll see how the lawyers work it out.

I am very upset about all this
I lost my cat to this, she took sick before this all was figured out and died before we could try to save her.
I spent alot of money to try to save her when she took sick so fast.
I think someone should be responsible for the costs of everything, I had alot of money in my cat since she was part of the family, then something as simple as a can of food killed her.
I feel bad I was nourishing her not knowing it was killing her.
Ive started a yahoo group to try and get
people who have lost pets to this so we can help each other.

Yes, they should! Some people like myself were buying "premium" food to protect our pets not "cheapest" supplier. My cat is recovering and others have died. Supplier or not, we all have vet bills over $1k now.
