I'd consult a vet, but I would not abort the foal. Unless there is a great degree of inbreeding over several generations, the foal should be OK. A lot of registries allow sires to breed dauhters, and it is called line breeding. A vet should confirm that the foal will likely be OK.

Your mare will most likely be fine and so will the foal..it is typically ok to breed son to mother with horses as long as there isn't any close line breeding with the same bloodlines...the cases that there can be huge problems are daughter to father. You could contact your vet to put your mind at ease but there shouldn't be any reason to abort the foal and if there is and the mare is earlier than 30 days or so its a very simple process of pinching off just like they do if there is a twin pregnancy. Good luck.

I'd talk to the vet, but I wouldn't abort the foal. It can be bad for the mare, depending on how far along she is. Plus, I feel sorry for the foal. Its not that big a deal, some people make it a regular practice, sorry to say.

First off, you don't need to abort the colt, just talk to your vet and make sure there aren't going to be any severe complications.
Second off, you really should have taken more precautions when picking your horses pasture mates... Obviously two unfixed horses that are of different sexes will try to mate-- now you might possibly have to kill an innocent life. I'm guessing you were thinking that they would know not to mate because they are family, but unfortunately that is not usually the case.. Don't worry everything should be fine-- we all make mistakes in our life, and we learn from them too, so let's not let this happen again!
GOOD LUCK

I would not abort the horse. Then you would be called a murderer. You can sell the horse once it is born to a nice owner [not a breeding farm] that doesn't care about lines or you can keep it. Just don't put horses of the different sexes that are UN castrated! A pretty bad mix-lol

If it has just happened the vet can tell you when to have her palpated to be sure she's pregnant and at that time they can pinch off the embryo the same way they do to remove one twin for the safety of the mare and foal.

A shot of Prostagladin will abort the pregnancy. Only your vet should administer this, she may be too far along to abort safely.

Talk to your vet. I believe there are medications that can be used.
