Im interested in having a giant as a house
pet but dont know if im being realistic. I dont have a
garden for them so dont know if it would be fair. Are
they happy having just a flat to run around in? Are
they easy enough to litter train? most importantly- would he chew my
furniture whilst i was out?! any advice would be much
appreciated. Also I have guinea pigs too, would he
attack them?

Does anyone have any ideas. It came on very suddenly, and as it is a youngster I'm not sure what could have caused it.

how can you write something about being a cat/dog for a day without using the sounds "arf!" or "meow!"?
criteria
you cant state that you are the cat/ dog
you dont "see" through the dog/cats eyes
but you are indirectly talking about them

Lately she hasnt been using her wheel (she usualy does) or coming out to get food or water. i hadn't really noticed because i thought my mom had been refilling her food and water as i have been busy. I just took her out and (what really worries me) her whole underside is very cold and the temp in my house and her cage isn't cold at all. I was very sick for the past week, could she have caught my sickness? or is she simply hibernating due to the slightly cold weather that finally went away yesterday? any suggestions would be helpful

I've noticed my rabbit goes into moments that to me almost looks like he was hiccuping. At first i thought it was just something he did and then i thought about hairballs but he never choked up anything like a cat does so i didnt know what to make of it. I wanted to know if this is something all rabbits get and should not be worried about or can this get serious if left untreated?

My baby dwarf hamster is sick. She has one eye that is smaller than the other (when she opens it) I just noticed it today. She is still eating...she is just walking kind of funny and breathing really heavy and short breaths...I am so sad and scared to go to sleep...please help. I plan on taking her to the vet in the morning I hope its not too late by then. Please help. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

She makes me so angry! She recycles pets like they were garbage. Her recent stunt was giving her shih-tzu away...because he's grumpy! I don't blame him for being grumpy. No attention or training and unloved. After him, she got a german Shepard cross, who just hangs out in the backyard ALL DAY! And her cat....I'm sure it has a broken leg...he won't even step on it! It is missing almost all of it's fur around it's neck, he's been fighting with raccoons in the gulley. She doesn't vacinate her pets, never mind spay them. I can't hold it in any longer...I'M GOING TO SCREAM!!!!!!

I have heard this mentioned before: that small animals... or big ones too, I guess, when they are really, really scared that their hearts can burst from the rapid spike in adrenaline, blood pressure, etc. Is it true, or even somewhat true?

I know if a horse is pushed to the limit blood vessels can burst/rupture in their nostrils. I'm sure that can apply to other animals as well.

My boyfriend recently bought a horse. He is a beginner-intermediate rider, and although this horse is still relatively green, he is very mellow under saddle......until he gets nudged in the side with a loose stirrup. I have taken horses from being colts to adults and always made sure they were de-sensitized from the day they were born, or have bought horses that were already pretty much de-sensisitzed.
I have tried over many weeks to de-sensitize this horse's belly and sides and between his hind legs with gentle touch and just dropping the stirrups gently against his side, but no matter what i do he still flinches, and has bolted with a rider after a stirrup came loose. I have used my hands and a "Parelli carrot stick" and he has no issues elsewhere on his body with either.
This horse is almost 8 and had barely been started when we bought him, however is had been used to baby-sit colts and had no problems with them underneath him.
Need some suggestions as to what else i can do

A couple months ago (september, actually) my rabbit died. It was interesting. At first she couldn't eat, she wanted to but couldn't. Then she couldn't walk. Then she was pushing her front legs around. Then she died. All within about 2 days. Well, now my other rabbit has almost the same symptoms except it's been 3 days, and he eats. He has problems walking and it's sad to watch. It's like a brain tumor. Both were healthy when they got the sickness. Does anyone know what it is? We called the vet and he couldn't find anything with the same symptoms.

He has a brown head and white body with big black eyes. I am thinking about Cinnamon but that might get a little long. Also, it has to sound good with the name Spice and possibly with the name Bruce because there are 3 rats.
Thanks!

Working in the vet industry you see a lot of heartache but this one day a man called up and was telling me that he had heard this old lady on the radio the night before saying that her dog was sick and she could afford a vet bill. It ended up that the dog was not on a good diet and was in desperate need for Spaying. A stranger called up and offered to pay for the dogs spay and get the dog up to date with needles again. All up all the things she has done cost 400$. I never met the man but it was one of the kindest thing I have ever heard someone do for a stranger.
I Dropped the dog back hpme that night as the lady didnt drive and she invited me in for a cup of tea. So i stayed and listen to her sad story of how her husband had had a stroke and his kids (She was Re- married with step children), where trying to take the house of her from right under her nose they had taken of with money & left her and her dog living on Sausage rolls! I set up eating parcels 4 her and visited reguarly

I live in a race car trailer with living quarters, 24 feet long, 8 feet wide, 6 and 1/2 feet high..Its a full time house, meaning we don't haul anything with it. What I'm asking is, is my house the adequate size for a single male ferret? I live seperate from my parents (they have their own RV) and sisters. My sisters are 6 and 3. They'd have little interaction with the ferret. I'm willing to buy a large cage and plenty of toys and accessories! We do travel alot, but I've heard ferrets travel well. Of course, the ferret would be in a cage in the vehicle with me! I really do think a ferret is the right pet for me. I can't have a dog, cat, rabbit, or iguana... Thanks for your input!
