clean the litter boxes out every day sometimes 2x if needed, bleach them also once a week -but you have to put a little poo in them- gross I know but they need their scent or they won't use it. Make sure you wash all the ferrets blankies, toys and hammocks at least once a week, bath it every 6-8 weeks no more or else you will do it more harm then good and check the food you're feeding it, if it has fish oils and well most any fish in it it makes it stink. Never feed Marshalls food. I feed a mix of Totally Ferret, Wysong 1 and Iams kitten chow and my house honestly doesn't smell of them I have asked many people and nobody has said anything and my friends are very bold. Oh yeah and keep a bottle of febreeze handy for furniture and carpets and rubbing alcohol to scrub any accidents that happen on the carpet. now as for the ferrets themselves smelling- they'll always have a musky smell to them but your whole house shouldn't mine have unlimited access so I can't see why yours would be any different.

I would honestly buy some oust. It works for me and I have a dog and cat. Keeps the house smelling clean and not like the animals that live here. Of course I haven't the foggiest Idea what a ferret smells like but I'm sure its not good. Hope this helps a bit.

If you can find a good de-odorizer, it might help a little bit.
I hate to tell you this, but you'll have to get used to that smell. Even a de-scented ferret will still have a musty smell to it.

has the ferret been de-scented. if not, that should be your next step. if it is, maybe you should vaccuum your carpets with baking soda and clean hard surfaces with vinegar. (both are proven odor eliminators).

put deoderizer on the ferret, and spray febreeze in you house.
