She makes me so angry! She recycles pets like they were garbage. Her recent stunt was giving her shih-tzu away...because he's grumpy! I don't blame him for being grumpy. No attention or training and unloved. After him, she got a german Shepard cross, who just hangs out in the backyard ALL DAY! And her cat....I'm sure it has a broken leg...he won't even step on it! It is missing almost all of it's fur around it's neck, he's been fighting with raccoons in the gulley. She doesn't vacinate her pets, never mind spay them. I can't hold it in any longer...I'M GOING TO SCREAM!!!!!!

Thank you everyone! I think I will report her. She is not the knid of person who would take this lightly, no matter how light you made it.

Geez you know, I've even offered to walk our dogs together. I've had enough!!

Maybe you SHOULD scream.

At your friend.

Seriously, if I were being a major screwup about something, I'd want my friends to let me know.

Start with the vet care that the cat so obviously needs, as that seems to be the pressing crisis in this situation. So, OK, maybe you shouldn't "scream," but instead you should gently draw your friend's attention to the cat's limp and poor fur condition (as if she hasn't noticed?) and ask her if she needs your help either with transportation or money so that the cat can get seen by a vet. You might want to let her know that in many places, it's considered a crime to withhold necessary medical attention from your companion animal.

Honestly, I couldn't be friends with someone like that. I can forgive a lot of things, but animal cruelty is not among them.

You've got to tell her to her face what a horrible person she is and make it point blank that if she continues this kind of treatment that she will be reported to the authorities because it makes you so mad that you deserve to scream at HER. I think people that treat there animals badly are the lowest of low and I wonder how they would like it if they were the animals and the animals were them how they would like being treated like that.... to hang out in the backyard all day and no love no attention I have to wonder if she even feeds and waters him?? That isn't the kind of friend I would want to call my friend. If she's that uncaring how could she be any kind of a friend that a caring person as yourself deserves. After I told her how I felt then I would call and turn her in for the sake of the animals. Call the cops, call animal rescue, call SOMEONE!! that poor cat needs medical attention and those animals deserve so much more than that uncaring person will ever give them.... And you deserve much better friends too, don't you? I wouldn't let much time pass before I made my move those animals need your help. If she don't care then they need you to care enough to get them out of this ordeal and maybe she'll get fined or put in jail and will realize how very wrong she has been and won't ever get another animal. GO AHEAD SCREAM!!!!!!!

I agree with everyone else. Report her to the ASPCA. Tell her that her life would be simpler and more enjoyable if she did not have any pets or maybe you can convince her to give up pets by telling her that her house smells because of the animals. She seems like the type of person that would never listen to reasoning that she is being cruel to the animals but if you make it all about her, i.e. it would give her more time, it would be easier, no more animal waste to clean up. She might be more receptive. Lastly, knowing that this is how she treats anything or anyone that depends on her, why are you punishing yourself by being friends with such a self centered, horrible, irresponsible person?

if i were in your situation, i would try to talk some sense into the girl before reporting her. i would tell her it's a crime not to give your pets medical attention and tell her to imagine herself helpless with a broken leg, and just because its a cat, that doesnt mean it doesnt mind the pain! and if she still did nothing,
i personally would tell her straight up, im sorry but i cant stand by and witness animal cruelty and not do anything about it, either get them medical attention or i will have to take matters into my own hands (by reporting her, but you dont have to say that because the former was warning enough!). it may sound threatening but atleast you will be straight forward and give her a chance to fix things (which who knows, she just might) instead of going behind her back and reporting her from the very beginning.

Report her to the local authorities, whether it's the ASPCA, the police, or animal control (it varies from town to town and state to state). If it's really that bad with the cat, especially. If you don't want her to know it was you, you can do it anonymously. In most states vaccinations, or at least rabies vaccination, is required, so at the very least she'll get a ticket for that. I hope things start to get better for those animals. Sounds like the shih tzu got lucky:(

Maxximumj hit the nail on the head!!! Tell your friend to her face that she's abusing her animals and that it's illegal. Offer to help take the cat to the vet. If she ignores you, or you don't want to approach her with the subject, call your local pound or humane organization and report her. Tell them you don't want your name used when they go talk with her. If the humane organization doesn't follow through on your request, hammer them with it until they take action. You don't want to spend the rest of your life feeling guilty if the cat dies, or the new ShepardX is put down because it's so lonely that it barks all night, digs up the yard, or bites someone. Act now. This is a bonafide case of neglect and abuse. Your "friend" does not deserve to have animals, or your friendship.

simply tell her to her face that she is doing something wrong, and that wo/man is responsible for that which we tame....so it is her responsibilty to take care of these animals......

or you could just make an anonomoys(spelling?) call to the cops or animal shelter about animal abuse, because neglect IS abuse, and she can get heavily fined and even a short jail time depending on what state you guys are in..........

goodluck, people like this rarely listen.

i would just call the aspca... thats horrible what she s doing.. if they get called enough they wont let her get anymore pets, and if she does it would be a fine. i know it sounds mean. but those poor pets need to be taken care... and in a loving home.. i would never dream of my pets being like that.

You don't have much in common with someone who has no feelings for animals. Choose another freind, you will be better off.
